Elizabeth Ruth McDonald Bard, 72, of Nacogdoches passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023 in Wells, Texas. She was born on August 7, 1951 in Fort Worth, the daughter of Billy R. McDonald and Mary Brotherton McDonald. Elizabeth was the proud wife of John Bard, Retired US Army, of Nacogdoches. She served almost 3 years in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Mrs. Bard will honorably be laid to rest in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. Evelyn Gaynell Josey Whitney, of Natchez, MS, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at home with her family at the age of 76. Gaynell was born October 13, 1947, in Oxford, MS, and was raised in Natchez, MS. She attended Natchez Adams County High School and graduated in 1966. Gaynell attended Copiah Lincoln Community College where she was a Collette. She went on to graduate from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Education. She married Richard Malcolm Whitney of Natchez, MS. They were married for 53 loving years, with Natchez being their home. They had two children, their son, Ashly Malcolm, and daughter, Jennifer Whitney. Gaynell is survived by her husband, Richard; her son Ashly Malcolm Whitney (Staci); her daughter Jennifer Whitney Nienaber (Derek); her granddaughter, Cloie Ashton Whitney; her brother-in-law, Mark Whitney (Betty); and her sister-in-law, Whitney Shuman (Eric). She was preceded in death by her parents, Opal and Lloyd Josey; and her sister, Rose Marie Josey Dykes. Gaynell taught English and Science in the public school system for 28 years and spent an additional twelve years teaching at Adams County Christian School and retired in 2013. She was a devoted and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was involved in the Natchez Garden Club, ADK, and a very active member of Grace Methodist Church. She enjoyed getting together with friends and entertaining. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a. m. on January 3, 2024, at Grace Methodist Church.Show more

Service for Rev. Ronald Hall, 72, of Vidalia, who passed away in his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, will be held at 6 p. m. Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Pentecostal Church with Pastor Hutto, Pastor Timothy Parker, Pastor Jimmy Holland, Pastor Cliff Crosby, and Pastor Tim Thompson officiating this celebration of life. Visitation is from 5 to 6 p. m. Saturday, December 9, 2023. Graveside service and burial will be held at 1 p. m. Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Powell's Grove Pentecostal Church cemetery. He served as the pastor of Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Vidalia, LA, for 34 years. He is united with his Lord and Savior and reunited with the love of his life Sister Larose Hall. Rev. Ronald Hall leaves behind his daughter Amy Hall of Ball, LA; son Jeremy Hall and wife Tiffany of Vidalia, LA; grandchildren Abrianna Wise and husband David of Monterey, LA, Brooklyn Hall, Ainslee Hall, Leighton Hall, and Keiley Hall. He also leaves behind a loving church family whom he dedicated his life to for 30 plus years. Those honoring Rev. Ronald Hall as pallbearers are Leighton Hall, Tray Weatherly, David Wise, Bobby Maples, Donnie Maples, Hunter Maples, Keith Graves, and Dustin Birely. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Maples, Jack Goss, Jimmy Frazier, Rev. Patrick Anders, Sam Whittington, Melvin Campbell, Kenneth McElwee, and Sharod Hux.
