Michael R. Henry, of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania passed away on October 31, 2023, at Penn State Hershey Medical Center after a brief illness with his loving family by his side. Mike was born on June 14, 1960, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, the son of the late Hamilton M. Henry and Vivian M. (Becker) Henry. He is survived by his devoted wife and best friend, Tracey L. (Rohrer) Henry, to whom he was married for 23 years. They shared five children: their son, Hunter Henry; daughter, Jennifer Koziel and her husband Noah; daughter, Megan Kibe; son, Sean Genetti; and daughter, Brittany Albright. Mike was a proud Pap to two granddaughters (Lilliana and Rose) and six grandsons (Levi, Parker, Noah, Elijah, Charlie, and Lincoln). Mike was a loving and adored brother to his sister, Sherri L. Miller, wife of Roger; and his brother, Jimmy Henry. He was an immensely proud uncle to Jason Guinn and his wife Jenny; his niece, Jamie Kozulovic and her husband Daniel, his late nephew Jimmy Henry, and Craig Henry. He was a son-in-marriage to Jerry and Rose Rineer. Mike was a retired Command Sargent Major of the U. S. Army for 30 years. He started his military career as a Marine. He served two active-duty tours in Ramadi, Iraq and Talil, Iraq. He received the Legion of Merit Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Bronze Star Medal-Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal-Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal-Triple Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal-Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Good Conduct Medal Silver Good Conduct Four Knot Device, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal-Bronze Star Device, Iraq Campaign Medal-Bronze Star Device, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal Mobilization Device, Army NCO Professional Development Bronze Numeral 4, Army Service, Army Overseas Service-Bronze Numeral 2, Army Reserve Components Overseas Training, Pennsylvania National Guard Commendation Medal, Pennsylvania National Guard Recruiting and Retention Medal, Pennsylvania National Guard 20 Year Service Medal, Pennsylvania National Guard Major General Thomas R. White Medal, and Pennsylvania National Guard General Thomas J. Stewart Medal. Mike enjoyed volunteering at New Hope Ministries. He was an avid hunter enjoying annual trips with friends in New Hampshire and New York. He enjoyed mini-farming, canning his annual harvest, four-wheeling with his family and friends, fishing, summers at the beach, and watching his children participate in sporting events. Spending time with his family and friends brought him the greatest joy. Of all of his many attributes and qualities, Mike's Christian faith was paramount to him. He lived the word by freely giving of his time and skills to anyone who asked. He shared his faith in living his life with great integrity, honor, and purpose. The funeral service will be held at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors at 1 p. m. on Thursday, November 9, 2023. The venue is outside with little to no overhead protection. At Mike's request, there will be no viewing or service prior to the interment and no graveside service.
