Dennis "Denny" Michael Andreone was truly one of a kind. If you got the chance to meet him during his 77 years of life, surely you knew - almost instantly - that Denny possessed a big heart, a sharp intellect, and a subtle, yet hilarious sense of humor. He probably brought a smile to your face or even made you belly laugh with his seemingly endless supply of one-liners. Denny's personality was disarming, and he was decidedly charismatic and dependable. You could count on him to be there for you, and many people did just that, including his remarkably large family, his friends who he treated like family, and his clients who he diligently represented throughout the course of his 50-year legal career. If you were telling the story of his life, you could not overstate how solid of a man Denny was. He was a rock, a foundation, and a source of strength for so many. Despite persevering through struggles with his heart, on Friday, October 20, 2023, Denny passed away at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Towson, Maryland. On the day of his passing, he was surrounded by his loving family and his transition from this life was genuinely peaceful. Denny was born in Baltimore on December 17, 1945 to Fortunato and Regina (Sullivan) Andreone. He was the oldest of five siblings and was raised in Parkville, Maryland. He attended grade school at St. Ursula School and made many life-long friends during his time there. Denny went to high school at Loyola Blakefield in Towson, Maryland, graduating with the Class of 1963. Even decades later, the school and his status as a former student remained important to Denny. He thoroughly enjoyed participating in alumni events, such as Bull & Oyster Roasts and the annual Turkey Bowl football game between Loyola and Calvert Hall. Denny had played varsity football and baseball for the Dons back in the 1960s. He was an outstanding baseball player in his youth and continued to play the sport for years. He even received interest from professional teams and was invited to participate in spring training with the Pittsburgh Pirates. However, Denny's baseball career was cut short due to injury. After high school, Denny attended Loyola College and majored in economics. He obtained his undergraduate degree in 1967, and upon graduation worked for a time at Bethlehem Steel. Realizing that he wasn't particularly suited to be a steel worker, Denny decided to take a job as an insurance claims adjuster - a position that he held full-time, while actively pursuing a law degree during the nighttime hours at the University of Maryland School of Law. During this time, he also cared for and raised his daughter, Gina, who was born in 1970. He graduated with a Juris Doctor degree in 1972 and passed the Maryland Bar exam shortly thereafter in 1973. Denny began his legal career working for the Maryland Attorney General's office in Baltimore. He worked hard to support his young family, which was growing with the arrival of his son, Peter, in 1976. Denny spent the majority of his 50-year legal career representing workers' compensation and personal injury claimants in the Baltimore area. He was a fierce advocate for his clients. In most cases, his clients were dealing with traumatic injuries and events that created stress and uncertainty in their lives. Denny particularly enjoyed counseling his clients and helping to navigate them through the legal process - almost always arriving at a successful result. He was highly respected in the legal community. In 1986, Denny met the love of his life, Carol (Lacaillade) Fleuette. Denny fell hard for her, as she was his perfect match, and the two married just a year later in 1987. In typical Denny fashion, he would tell anyone who would listen that it was Carol who had asked him to marry her on their third date - a fact that remains a great controversy in the Andreone household to this day. In truth, any such debate about who was more smitten with who first is wholly inconsequential. Their love and commitment to each other was undeniable and they remained happily married for over 37 years. Denny is survived by his wife Carol, daughter Gina Strauss and husband Anthony of Glen Arm, Maryland, son Peter and wife Tonya of Overland Park, Kansas, stepchildren Renee Gallagher of Tracy's Landing, Maryland, Daniel Fleuette of Arlington, Virginia, Andre Fleuette of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Jeff Fleuette and wife Judy of Los Angeles, California. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Kristen, Lauren, and Thomas Gallagher, Andre Remi Fleuette, Maya and Brooke Strauss, James and Jules Fleuette, Louis Lackland, and Christian and Spencer Andreone, and also by his siblings Tom and wife Denise Andreone, Jim and wife Connie Andreone, sister Karen Andreone Garcia, and sister Mary Ellen and husband John Malooly. A memorial service to honor and celebrate Denny's life will be held at Christ the King Church in Towson, Maryland on Saturday, October 23, 2023, starting at 11:00 a. m. All are welcome to attend.
