Eileen Mae Goroski, age 91, of Glendive, Montana, passed away on June 18th, 2022, surrounded by family. A Rosary Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 27, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glendive. Mass of Christian Burial will follow, starting at 11:00 AM with Father Francis Schreiber officiating. Rite of Committal will be in the Dawson County Cemetery in Glendive. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements. Eileen Mae Scherman was born on May 30, 1931, to Edward Charles and Mamie (Mary Caroline Otremba) Scherman. She attended school at the Alpha Country School through Eighth Grade and graduated from High School in Beach, ND, in 1949. Eileen attended Dickinson Teacher College to earn a standard teaching diploma which allowed her to educate children of many ages at various country schools in eastern MT and western ND for eight years. On July 12, 1958, Eileen married James Paul Goroski who was her true love for nearly 64 years. Eileen and James were richly blessed with eight children: Susan, Girard, Edna, Curtis, Sylvia, Evonne, Calvin, and Jan. For many years, Eileen enjoyed following her children in sports and dancing with her husband. She also loved having coffee with her friends, reading a good novel, playing cards with the grandchildren, crocheting, embroidering, and playing piano. What a special lady! She had a heart of gold and was loved by all. Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, James P; her daughter, Susan Marie; her mother and father Mamie and Edward C. Scherman; sister Alice (Floyd) Weyer; brothers, Eddie (Ellenore); Marvin (Janice); Maynard (Lydia); father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leo and Eva Goroski; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Larry & Marian Goroski. She is survived by seven children include Girard (Shari) Goroski of Glendive, MT; Edna (Grant) Paulson of Bowman, ND; Curtis (Mary) Goroski of Fargo, ND; Sylvia Goroski of Morrison, CO; Evonne (Michael) Bird of Springfield, MO; Calvin (Sara) Goroski of Colorado Springs, CO; & Jan (Cory) Goroski of Littleton, CO. Twelve grandchildren include Breann (Brice) Larson, Garrett Goroski, Gavin (Michelle) Goroski; Luke Paulson; Jacob and Zoe Goroski, Jessica (Fiance Jordan Johnson) Goroski; Koby, Keegan, & Kelsey Bird; Eva Goroski; Leah & Ethan Goroski; two great grandchildren Adelise and Beckett Larson; one sister Louise Paul of WI, and many nieces and nephews.
