Donato DiMola Jr, age 61, of Toms River passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Born in Hackensack, Donato grew up in North Bergen before relocating to the Toms River area in the late 70s. Upon graduating from Toms River North, he went on to work at Bradlees where he met the love of his life, Donna. After Bradlees he worked for Arnold Steel and later Dover Township Public Works. It was there that had had opportunity to join the Teamsters as a business agent. That career move would change his life as he worked his way up the ranks to becoming the Secretary Treasurer for Teamster Local 97. His days were filled with arbitrations, negotiations, fighting for his members and supporting rallies. He was a proud member of the Joint Council and was an absolute force to be reckoned with when negotiating a contract. After that chapter of his career ended, he pursued security operations and various civil service jobs to better his community. He was known for his colorful collection of Kangol hats and an array of watches. He was a 3rd degree black belt, listened to loud music and always represented his Baltimore Ravens (although he certainly did support the 49ers in their glory days with Joe Montana & Jerry Rice!) He had several hobbies and interests, but by far his favorite thing to do was spend time with his family, especially his grandson. He loved playing dinosaurs, Hotwheels and enjoying afternoon snacks. Yes, Gampaw and Gamps were crazy for one another.
