At dawn on October 4th, Efren Baeza Sr joined his beloved wife, Bertha Singh Baeza, in eternal rest. Efren was born in El Paso on April 9th, 1928 to Juan Baeza and Adela Ponce Baeza. After the untimely death of his parents, he spent much of his childhood with extended family in San Lorenzo, Mexico. Efren returned to El Paso as a young man and began a decades-long career in the produce business. He retired from Pete Singh's produce as a produce manager. Efren's life centered around his family, the Dallas Cowboys, and mariachi music. A devout Catholic, he was a member of St. Joseph's Church for nearly 60 years. Efren is survived by his daughter Gilda Baeza Ortego; daughter-in-law Becky Baca Baeza, and cousin Juan Manuel Baeza. Also cherishing his memory are his grandchildren Adela Moody (Brandon), Victoria Olmos (Tony), Andrea Arciniega (Gabe), Albert Estrada (Virna), Andre Estrada (Alison) and Alexis Tucker (Clay), 18 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Efren is preceded in death by his son Efren Baeza Jr. , daughter Geraldine (Jay) Baeza Estrada, grandson Efren Baeza III, and sister Maria Eugenia Baeza. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church A visitation for Efren will be held Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive, El Paso, TX 79915. A funeral mass will occur Friday, October 13, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St Joseph's Church, 3729 Hueco Ave. , El Paso, Tx 79903. A graveside service will occur Friday, October 13, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, Texas 79907.
