Edward De Rueda of Santa Barbara, CA passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 12, 2022 in Woodland Hills, CA after many of his family and friends were able to say one final goodbye. He was the son of Yldefonso and Guadalupe De Rueda, born July 23, 1953 in Santa Barbara, CA. He lived the last few years in Ventura, CA. Edward enjoyed watching the Dodgers, photography, listening to hard rock, and all things encompassing science fiction. Also, he liked reading in his spare time. He often lectured and ushered at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. In his younger days he enjoyed working as a makeup artist for an array of different shows and amusement parks. In addition to these activities Edward worked for nineteen years as a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service. Edward is survived by his wife of 5 years, Gloria Christine De Rueda, whom he met while at Bishop Diego High School: his children Matthew De Rueda and James De Rueda; his stepchildren Victoria Carrillo and Anthony Carrasco; his sisters: Mary (Stanley) Pottkotter of Carpinteria, CA, Helen (Robert) Mortensen of Altadena, CA; his brothers: Louis (Cindie) De Rueda of Camarillo, CA, Arthur De Rueda of Santa Barbara, CA, and Patrick (Katerina) De Rueda of Paradise Valley, AZ: as well as many nieces, nephews, and stepgrandchildren. We will all miss Edward greatly and appreciate all the support the family has received.
