Edward Richman Obituary

Portland, ME- It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Edward Richman on Monday, May 8, 2023 at the age of 85. Eddie, as he was fondly known, was the beloved son of Morris and Toba Richman and was raised on Lewis Street in Portland. Eddie proudly served his country as a member of the U. S. Army National Guard during the Berlin Crisis. After his service, he took an interest in learning a trade and opened Carnation Dry Cleaners, which he successfully ran for over 30 years. Eddie was married to his wife Dianne for 40 years. They were a true inspiration, and their love for each other was unwavering, standing the test of time through thick and thin. Eddie was a loving, caring, and devoted family man who was always present for his loved ones. He had a kind heart, enjoyed the simple things in life, and always saw the good in everyone. His family and friends will always cherish the memories of his warmth and affection. Eddie is predeceased by his wife Dianne, his older sister Barbara Cooperstein, and his twin brother Carl Richman. He will be deeply missed by his children, Jeff Richman and his husband Bill Bennett, as well as his son Mark Richman. In addition, he will be missed by his extended family, who will remember him as a kind and generous man who always put others first. Funeral services will take place Thursday at 1pm at Temple Beth El, 400 Deering Ave. , Portland. After interment at Temple Beth El Cemetery, the family invites you to his residence, 97 Birchwood Drive in Portland. Arrangements are by Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home, Portland.
