Longtime Craig resident, Edward "Ed" Relaford, died peacefully at his home in Craig on Saturday, September 9, 2023. He was 77. A celebration of Ed's life will be held on Father's Day in 2024. Edward Carl Relaford was born the son of Samuel and Vivian (Haskell) Relaford on July 16, 1946, in Olathe, Colorado. He spent his childhood and attended schools in Uravan and Nucla, CO. On July 23, 1965, Ed married the love of his life, Patricia Anne "Pat" Tilford in Naturita, CO. The couple celebrated 58 wonderful years of love and marriage together. Ed lived a full and happy life. He owned and operated his mechanic shop for many years before retiring. When he wasn't working, Ed enjoyed hunting, camping and riding razors with his friends. Above all, he was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all those who had the privilege to love and know him. Ed is survived by his wife, Pat Relaford of Craig; and three children: Carla Ellis of MO, Carlene Sanders of Craig and Eddie Jr. of Sheridan, WY. He is further survived by 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 on the way. Ed was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial contributions may be made in Ed's memory payable to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of Grant Mortuary. George Durham

Age - 90

George Edwin, "Ged", Durham was born on August 25, 1933 to Harry and Olive Durham. He was born on the family ranch on Waddle Creek in Hamilton, Colorado. George spent the majority of his life as a rancher. He fed the cows with a team and harvested oats with a thrasher. He rode a horse like he was born in the saddle, which he practically was. George was also employed as a pumper for the oil wells on the ranch. He also worked for ColoWyo in the guard shack. He enjoyed his time working at the city of Craig Road and Bridge department as well. No matter where he worked, he worked hard and made many friends. One highlight of his life was serving in the Army, 1954 through 1956, where he was stationed in Germany. George was a proud veteran and he loved the USA. George loved his wife, Sharon, of 47 years. They had many adventures, such as traveling to many countries, enjoying cruises, and meeting new friends. After selling the ranch, they moved to Lakeside Montana, where they worked together to build a wonderful home place, full of flowers and good times. After moving back to Craig, he enjoyed working in his yard with his wife, and spending time with many friends who would stop by for coffee and dessert. They were awarded "Yard of the Week," and were proud to be honored. He and Sharon were members of the Craig Christian Church, which was an important part of their lives. George is survived by his wife, Sharon Durham of Craig, children, Pam, (Steve) Bourdette of Glade Park, CO, Jan (Rich) Hansen of Wright, WY, Rod (Jeanie) Durham of Craig, CO, Terri (Jim) Robinson of Craig, CO, Cyndee (Ray) Owens of Dixon, WY, Shayne (Kim) Schulze of Larkspur, CO, and Dusty (Kaycee) Schulze of Fruita, CO. He enjoyed all 26 of his grandchildren, and his 43 great grandchildren, and his dog, Odie. George was preceded in death by his daughter Tanya Schulze Bohrer, and one granddaughter Cassie Owens. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Olive Durham, four sisters, Dorothy Williams, Edna Schrader, Avis Self and Betty Knight, and two brothers, Harry Durham, Jr. and Almon Durham. He believed in and strongly encouraged his children and grandchildren to vote. We will remember him everytime we eat a dessert as he truly loved his desserts. Funeral services for George will be held at 11:00 a. m. , Monday, November 27, 2023 at Craig Christian Church. Interment will follow at Craig Cemetery.Show more

We are sad to announce that we have lost a fantastic Mother, Wife, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister, and an overall loving person. Patricia Ann Wilkinson Hansen passed away peacefully at the loving age of 85, surrounded by her husband and children. Patricia is survived by her husband of 38 years, Wade Hansen JR. ; her children: Marcia Clark, Scott Curtin, Sunny Hansen and Aimee Hansen. She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Devon Lowe, Meghan Hansen, Madison Hansen, Trevor Hansen, Sean Clark, and Austin Clark; younger brother, Edward Wilkinson; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Everyone who knew Pat knew how much she loved her family, reading, the beach, and cats and dogs. Especially her love for Great Danes. Pat retired to Oceanside California just blocks from the beach. After many years in Oceanside, Pat and Wade moved to Craig and lived there for many years. They attended the Craig Christian Church Faithfully. Pat and Wade moved back to Oceanside to be near the beach again. Patricia, your life was a blessing to all, your memory will forever be a treasure. Frances Chisholm

Age - 90

Longtime Craig resident, Frances B. Chisholm, passed on to Heaven on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Sandrock Care and Rehab. She was 90. A graveside service honoring Frances' life will be held at 1:00 p. m. , Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Craig Cemetery. Frances Blanton Chisholm was born the daughter of Frank and Vera Patton on July 30, 1933 in Paynesville, Missouri. She spent her childhood and attended schools in Paynesville. She recalled Paynesville as nice quiet farm town where she was a member of 4-H. Frances married Charles Chisholm in Sedalia, Missouri. To this union, two children, Charles Jr. and Rebecca were born. The couple moved their family to Craig in 1973. Frances worked at K-Mart for nearly 17 years and made many lifelong friends whom she cherished. Frances was a member of the First Christian Church and later became a member of Yampa Valley Baptist Church both of Craig. She loved playing bingo at the VFW and Elks Lodges every chance she had. Frances enjoyed volunteering as a pink lady at Memorial Regional Health, which earned her "volunteer of the year" and was featured in the Craig Daily Press for her achievement. She also donated her time to the Moffat County Fair and was a longtime member of the Cowbelles - now known as Moffat County Cattlewomen. Frances was well loved by all who truly knew her. She will be greatly missed and remembered for her caring spirit and whose heart was of God.Show more

Dick King

Age - 79

November 2, 2023

Dick King passed away peacefully surrounded by members of his family on Monday, October 30, 2023, at Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat Springs, CO. He was 79. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 7-9 pm on Friday, November 10 at Grant Mortuary in Craig. The funeral service will be held at 9 am on Saturday, November 11 at St Michael's Catholic Church, also in Craig. Dick was born August 25, 1944, in Wichita Falls, Texas to Virgil Raymond "Bud" and Mildred Frances (Morrison) King. He was the first of five children. He grew up in Burlington, CO, where his lifetime passion for sports and the outdoors began. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1962 and was a member of the 1962 Colorado All State Men's Basketball Team. Dick married Jane Matilda Stolz on November 10, 1962. After moving to Craig in 1972, the couple owned and operated multiple businesses, including King's Automotive and Big A Auto Parts. The family has owned and operated Auto Parts of Craig since 1980. He played for many men's softball and basketball teams in Craig throughout the 1970s and 1980s and was a member of the first Triple Crown Co-Ed championship softball team, along with Jane. Dick had a true passion for trapshooting and was a very active member of the Craig Trap Club for over 45 years. He was inducted into the Colorado Trap Shooting Hall of Fame in 2012. He traveled extensively around the country competing in various shoots and coached many generations of young trap shooting enthusiasts at the Craig Trap Club throughout the years. His love for the sport continued into his later years and he last shot 23 of 25 in early October from his wheelchair. Dick was a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and was happiest when he was spending time with his family - fishing, hunting, and cheering on multiple generations of his family throughout their school years in all their wonderful activities. He is survived by his two sons, Virgil Richard (Diane) King Jr. of Craig and Bradley Phillip (Kristy) King, of Grand Junction; and his daughter, Kelly Lynn Kaemerer, of Littleton. Dick is also survived by his grandchildren, Casey (Kaci) Meek-Martin of Castle Rock; Cameron Martin of Craig; Carlin King of Craig; Cayden King of Craig; Madison Kaemerer of Littleton; Nicholas Kaemerer of Littleton; Ashley Peters (Michael Kime) of Grand Junction; Kori King of Grand Junction; and Josey (Shayna) Allen-King, of Grand Junction. He has seven amazing great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Sue (Doug) Keirnes of Castle Rock; Debbie (Barry) Hinkhouse of Burlington; and Julie Mann of Littleton. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jane; his parents, Bud and Mildred King; and his sister, Phyllis King. Dick loved sharing stories about his family's adventures, and he traveled far and wide to share in their life experiences. His family always knew that all they had to do was look up and they would find grandpa close by. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and sent to "Memorial Giving: 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
