Forrest (Frank) Mainard, born in Oklahoma on November 10th 1932 went to Heaven December 2nd 2023. He had suffered with Parkinson's for many years but this last year it took a toll on his body. He fought a hard fight but Saturday morning at 11:40am he found peace in the arms of Jesus. Frank moved to California with his family when he was a boy, growing up in Earlimart he picked cotton as a kid and graduated from Delano High School. He went into the Navy at the age of 18 where he served on the USS Tawasa ATF 92. One week after getting out of the service he met Elaine Colvin, the love of his life, and 3 months later they married and were married for 68 years. He worked for the Santa Maria Bonita School District for 37 years starting as a custodian being promoted and retiring as the Head of Maintenance and Operations. Being an ambitious young man Frank went to school and earned a barbers license, a realtor license and his contractor's license. Because of his work ethics and dedication to his achievements he was able to provide a wonderful full life for his wife and 3 children. Our mom and dad lived In Santa Maria most of their married lives. They built several homes together, the last one they moved into on August 23rd of this year. Designed by them and built by their grandson Jason, it would be the place his family would care for him and surround him with the love he always showed us. His love for his family is unquestionable and losing his baby daughter, Debbie, in 1957 and his son Scott in 1986 were 2 of the hardest struggles he faced as a dad. He was so very proud of his 2 daughters, his grandchildren and all of the great grandkids, always interested and cheering for our successes. He was a proud man, an honest man, a private man and at 91 years old still smart as a whip. Today this family is broken but he asked us to stay strong and we will. Dad had a genuine love of God and turned to his faith often and is now building us that mansion in the sky where we will all meet again. Frank was proceded in death by his parents Earl and Gertha, his 5 siblings and his daughter and son, Debbie and Scott. He is survived by his wife Elaine Mainard, daughters Glynda Dias (Mainard) and Donna Mainard. He has 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Turbeville, Jason Bettencourt Jenelle Childress and Kalani Arvik as well as all the spouses that he loved as his own. 12 great grankids completed this happy, crazy family that this man dedicated his life to. We would love for you to join us in celebrating dads' life. The grave side service will be at 1pm on Tuesday the 12th on the older side of the Santa Maria cemetery. From there we will meet for some time of laughter, tears and sharing stories of this great man that was and will always be a hero to many of us.Show more

Born to Onofre and Refugio Guizar in Los Reyes, Michoacan, Mexico, he immigrated to Guadalupe, California at the age of seventeen. Manuel continued to work in the trade until his retirement and proudly served as a member of the Cement Masons Local 600 for 62 years. Our father was a kind, positive, and intelligent man.
