Emily Crofut

Emily Crofut

Age - 85

November 24, 2023

Emily Chandler Crofut passed away peacefully at age 85 on November 21, 2023 after a long and well lived life. Emily was born on April 30, 1938, to William and Cordelia McGuire in Arlington, VT. After graduating high school in Arlington, Emily worked at the Pennysaver and Hale Furniture, along with teaching Sunday School at St. James and leading Girl Scout troops. On July 5th, 1963, she married Walter James Crofut of Arlington, and five years later they welcomed a daughter, Rindy. Then in 1973, the family moved to Northwest Arkansas, where Emily began work as an administrative assistant in the Bentonville Public Schools. For most of her career, she provided support in the high school counselor's office. Her retirement years brought a move to Texas to live with her daughter, where she routinely snuck treats to the family dogs. Emily loved the Anglican church, Haagen-Dazs ice cream, walking in nature, and the company of her beloved pets. In fact, her family strongly suspected that she preferred it to the company of humans. However, Emily always had a compassionate heart and a spirit of encouragement for her friends and loved ones. She was sensitive, conscientious, and exceptionally skilled at organizing, sorting and labeling. She was known for her exquisite handwriting, rebellious nature and love of books. She was predeceased by her husband, and her brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Nancy McGuire. Emily will be gently remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Rindy & Chris Archer; four grandchildren (Chelsea (Peter) Noriega, Jennifer (Rob) Moylon, Chandler Hoover, and Brynn Hoover); three great grandchildren (Charlotte, Aria, and Alex) as well as nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held in the spring on the bank of Roaring Branch in Arlington. Notes of condolence may be left at www. foxfuneralhomeinc. com. In lieu of flowers, Emily would hope that you would adopt a cat, or if you so desire, make a donation to her favorite rescue organization, www. thepawerfulrescue. com, (1009 E Interstate 30 #1007, Rockwall, TX 75087) To to the family or in memory of Emily Crofut, pleaseShow more
