Edmund Enzi Obituary

Edmund "Ed" Emil Enzi, 69, of Richland Washington, passed away on March 25, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in November 2021. Ed was born in Seattle on March 18, 1954 to Irmgard and Edmund R. Enzi. Then spending his early years in Skagway Alaska, Great Falls Montana, and back to Seattle. Later, he resided in Bothell for 26 years and Richland for the last 5 years. Ed's career progressed from the photofinishing business developing pictures of people's adventures and memorable moments, to foundry work making huge ship propellors weighing up to 20,000 pounds. His next adventure was at ATL Ultrasound and Philips Medical where he worked from receiving to inventory management. (On a side note, both his daughter and son have also had planning roles as part of their careers). Ed was kind and compassionate with the biggest heart. He had a knack for picking out the best and most meaningful cards for any occasion. He had an infectious smile that would light up his eyes and entire face. Ed was smart and very witty, often displaying this through his clever sense of humor. He was an amazing storyteller and would be known to inject, "you're not telling it right" as each story needed the proper set up. Music was integral to Ed's life. Be it going to concerts or daily enjoyment from listening to a wide array of artists. Representative of this variety are just some of the fun concerts Ed attended: Rat Pack, Santana, U2, Brian Setzer Orchestra, Kings of Leon, Oasis, Johnny Rivers, Dwight Yoakam, Diana Krall, Billy Idol, and the Rolling Stones. Even on his final day, music was playing in his room. Ed loved sports of all kinds, especially basketball. He loved horse racing and experienced his lifetime dream of going to the Kentucky Derby in 2017. He loved going to the Washington and Oregon coasts and walking on the beaches finding sand dollars. But most of all he loved his family - whether watching sports or a movie, playing board games or cards, or just talking and laughing. Ed moved to Richland in 2018 to enjoy the sunshine, parks, rivers, bird watching and slower pace of life. Ed loved the view from his home and took awesome pictures of the ever-changing sunsets. Ed, everyone you left in this world laments how you are gone, but we are happy that you are free of worry and pain. We will always love and miss you. Ed is survived by Anita, his soul mate and beloved wife of 46 years. His daughter Jessie, son Eddie (Jen), brother Robert (Gayla), sisters Rose and Sue, as well as many other family members. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Second Harvest. Ed was a caring person and this organization was dear to his heart. Memorial donations may also be gifted to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. The Enzi family wants to thank Dr. Natt, SCCA, UW Medicine, and Fred Hutchinson for all their support in Ed's fight against cancer.
