Edith May Whitley, 92, of Jonesboro, passed away, Monday, June 20, 2022, at her home. She was born October 31, 1929, in Ardmore, AL to Ervin and Nona (Hastings) Walker. Edith worked for Frolic Footwear for many years as well as being a homemaker. Mrs. Whitley is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Buster Whitley, six siblings, and a great-grandson. Survivors include a son; Douglas Poe; daughters, Mary Poe, Sharon Mans, Aneda (Dennis) Clark, Lee Ann Wiggins; grandchildren, Medessia Rogers, Christy Wells, Bradley Clark, Stephanie Wiggins, Katie Lipscomb, Natalie Letner; 14 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, F. A. Walker; 2 sisters, Helen Davis, and Pauline Morgan. Funeral services will be Friday, June 24, at Roller-Farmers Funeral Home at 2:00 pm with J. R. Lambert officiating. Burial follows at Union Grove Cemetery. Visitation precedes the service from 12:30 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
