Edith Fitzgerald Obituary

Edith Waline Fitzgerald, 74, of Perkinston, MS, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, May 7, 2023. Edith was born on September 11, 1948, at home in Perkinston, MS to Louis and Ruby (Parker) Cowart. She grew up in Perkinston, alongside eleven siblings and retired from driving school buses after 20+ years. Edith was a simple woman who loved yellow roses and cooking good ole' country soul food. Her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother, and grandmother; tending to her family brought her all the happiness she could ever want. Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 55 years, David Fitzgerald; five children, Michel Fitzgerald, Tina Garwick, Beth Fitzgerald, John Fitzgerald, and Cheryl Fitzgerald; four siblings, James Cowart, Onita Fitzgerald, Barbara Madison, and Margie Dowdy; and grandchildren, Mariah and Ehron Garwick, Matthew and Tamie Ellison, and Corie Fitzgerald. Edith is preceded by her parents, Louis and Ruby Cowart; and seven siblings, Frances Webb, Leslie Cowart, Hubert and Herbert Cowart, Harold Cowart, Vivian Cowart, and Gladys Cowart.
