Joyce Thatcher Hart, 82, of Byron, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 13, 2023. A graveside service to honor her life will be held Monday, October 16, 2023, at 12:30 PM in the Byron City Cemetery. Her son, Alan Hart will officiate. Prior to the graveside service, the family invites friends to join them for a time of visitation from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Fairhaven Funeral Home. Mrs. Hart was born in Peebles, Ohio, on November 4, 1940, to the late Mr. Harvey Paul Thatcher and Mrs. Helen Wiseman Thatcher. She retired from Byron Elementary where she worked as a secretary, after 26 years of service. Mrs. Hart was a faithful member of Byron Baptist, where she lovingly served in many roles such as church secretary, nursey, and kitchen for 30 years. A two-time cancer survivor and a shining example of selflessness, she devoted herself to serving the needs of others by volunteering at Peach County Hospital and local Hospices for many years. She spent much of her free time traveling, entertaining, playing games like Uno and Phase 10, shopping, and going to yard sales. But most importantly, she loved spending time with her beloved family, as they were the light of her life. Mrs. Hart was preceded in death by her husband of 52 Years, Boyd S. Hart and brother, Dean Thatcher. Mrs. Hart is survived by her loving family, daughter, Kim A. Monaghan (Dennis); son, Alan Hart (Diane Nelson); grandchildren, Leslie Ann, McKensi Lea, and Karol Ann; great-grandson, Carter; brothers, Donald Thatcher, Dale Thatcher, and David Thatcher; and lifelong best friend, Joan Pate. Cassandra Danielle Harrison, 32, of Byron, GA, passed away unexpectedly on October 6, 2023, following surgery. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, October 13, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time. Cassandra was born on July 9, 1991, in Macon, GA. She was a member of St. Andrew Christian Church in Macon, GA. and was employed since 2015 as a Program Manager at Robins Air Force Base. A gifted student, she graduated from Crawford County High School in Roberta, GA, and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Georgia College & State University, followed by an M. B. A. from Mercer University. Cassi, as she was affectionately known, was known for her humor, intelligence, and her love for escape rooms and other puzzle games. She was also deeply devoted to animals and helped to establish PAWS in Middle Georgia Animal Rescue. She particularly enjoyed fostering kittens. A voracious reader, Cassi helped establish a book club and greatly valued her friendships in the club. She was a knowledgeable sports fan and cherished spending time with her two dogs. She was preceded in death by grandparents J. T. and Geraldine Powell, Harry Harrison, and Ivy and Mildred Bridger. Cassi is survived by her parents, Jeffrey and Linda Powell Bridger of Byron, GA, and Terry D. Harrison of New Smyrna Beach, FL. She is also survived by her grandmother, Sherry Harrison of Macon, GA, many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as her two beloved dogs, Athena and Isis, and her pet "sister," Sadie. Robert Taylor Glore, Sr. , of Byron, Georgia, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 11:00 a. m. at Lizella Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Minton officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service in the sanctuary. Burial will follow the service at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International to purchase bibles to spread the word of salvation. Mr. Glore was a member of Lizella Baptist Church. He served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and was known affectionately by many children as the Candy Man! He worked at H&H Upholstery, Associated Air Motors, Eastern Airlines, and Robins Air Force Base as an aircraft mechanic and supervisor. Mr. Glore served in the National Guard of Georgia where he was honorably discharged on 16th of April 1956. Mr. Glore was the son of the late Roy L. Glore and Ruby Glore. He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Glore. Kristina "Kristy" Oman Doles, 52, of Byron, Georgia peacefully passed away after a brief illness with her loving family by her side. The family will have a time of visitation to greet friends on Friday, August 25, 2023, from 5:00 PM- 7:00PM at Fairhaven Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Byron United Methodist Church. Reverend Phil Bryant and Reverend Josh Bizzell will officiate. Burial will follow in Byron City Cemetery. Kristy Doles was born on July 5, 1971, in Atlanta to the late Harry Alfred Oman and the late Charlotte Rowland Land. Kristy was a remarkable individual whose presence graced the lives of many. As a devoted sister, wife, and loving mother, she exemplified unwavering care and selflessness. Her warmth and compassion extended beyond her immediate family, touching the hearts of countless students as she made a profound impact as a dedicated teacher in the Bibb County School System. She began her career at Burghard Elementary and then moved to Skyview Elementary School, where she taught since the school opened 21 years ago. With an innate ability to nurture, guide, and inspire, she cultivated a genuine connection with her students, instilling within them the seeds of knowledge and the values of empathy. Kristy's legacy will forever remain etched in the hearts of those she touched, reminding us of the immeasurable power of love, dedication, and the lasting impact one soul can make. Being a wife and mother was the highlight of Kristy’s life. Her children were everything to her and she served as a mother figure to everyone she met. She was at her happiest on Sundays during dinner with her whole family. She enjoyed supporting her children’s many endeavors, reading, going to the beach, spending time with her Skyview family, and being a Byron Bunko Babe. She is preceded in death by her mother, Charlotte Land; father, Harry Oman; and her grandparents, Lonnie and Kathleen Rowland, and Wilbur and Hazel Oman.
