Age - 66
November 29, 2023
Ovsanna Kucukistipanoglu (Antreasyan) was 66 years old when she passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital, surrounded by her loving husband, son, and daughter, on the morning of November 25, 2023. She was born on January 3, 1957, in Istanbul, Turkey, where she spent her childhood, before moving to Montreal, Quebec, Canada in 1970, followed by Lawrence, MA, in 1983, and finally Methuen, MA, in 1988.
She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Avidis, her beloved son Jeff, beloved daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Chris Martin, and their beautiful sons, Benjamin and Nicholas. She is also survived by her mother, Vartuhi Antreasyan, her sister, Nadya Antreasyan, her sister and brother-in-law, Anouche and Sevan Gurunyan. She was additionally survived by her sisters-in-law, Madlen Arslanoglu of Methuen and Haygul Rose Stepian of Andover, and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends in Montreal, California, New Jersey, parts of New England, Turkey, and England. She was preceded by her loving father, Oskian Antreasyan, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Arusyak and Sahak Kucukistepanoglu, brother-in-law, Agop Arslanoglu, and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mari and Nurandik Kucukistipanoglu.
Known as "Mrs. K", anyone who met her was instantly greeted as if they were her own child with a welcoming smile, a warm hug, a listening ear, and a plate of food. Perhaps the only thing more exceptional than her cooking and baking was her loving soul and selfless generosity. Even with careers spanning employment as a jeweler, a bank teller, a French and Art teacher at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Methuen and Saint Joseph's Regional Catholic School in Salem, NH, and a cashier and appliance salesperson at the Home Depot in Methuen, her favorite role was that of family matriarch.
She enjoyed going to the beach and lake, knitting, playing with her grandsons, having a hot Hazelnut coffee outside on a warm day, and loved Christmas time. Although she faced countless extraordinary challenges, including a thirty-five-year journey to become a US citizen and a multitude of health issues, she bravely fought everyday with dignity and a smile upon her face. To say she will be greatly missed does not encapsulate the loss of such an unparalleled light of love. Her motto was always to love one another and to always reach for your goals.
Family and friends are welcome to celebrate her exceptional life by gathering for her calling hours on Friday, December 1, from 4PM to 8PM, at Cataudella Funeral Home at 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen, MA. Funeral services will be held at The Armenian Apostolic Church at Hye Pointe at 1280 Boston Road in Haverhill, MA, followed by a burial at Ridgewood Cemetery at 177 Salem Street in North Andover, MA. In lieu, of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory can be made to The Armenian Apostolic Church at Hye Pointe or to the family.Show more
