Earl Oney Sr Obituary

Earl F. Oney, Sr. , 87, of Laurel, DE, departed this life on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford, DE. Born in Millsboro, DE, he was the son of the late Manford "Jake" Oney, Sr. and Blanche Truitt Oney. His wife, Ethel Mae Oney, also preceded him in death. Mr. Oney was a member of New Dimensions Ministries, Millsboro Campus. He was a Ross' Point choir member. He loved quartet singing. Prior to retiring, he was a groundskeeper at the Stockley Center. He will be lovingly remembered by: six children, Evon Oney Davis, Melissa Oney, Earl F. Oney, Jr. , Victoria Lynn Snell (Joe), Deborah E. Treherne (Leon), and Veronica Y. Cornish (Donald, Jr. ); three sisters, Pearl Horsey, Dorothy Horsey, and Gladys West; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, in-laws, and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by two children, Robert Lee Oney and Fred Conquest, one sister, Kathleen Henriques, and six brothers, Glen Oney, Manford Oney, Jr. , Harley Oney, Milton Oney, Norman Oney, and Wilford Oney, Sr. Mr. Oney will lie in repose on Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 10 AM to 12 PM at St. Matthews First Baptist Church, 214 W. 10th Street, Laurel. The funeral service will begin at 12 PM. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
