Earl Castille Obituary

NEW IBERIA-A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for Earl Ricky Castille, age 66. Fr. Garrett Savoie, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum. The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Evangeline Funeral Home. The Men's Rosary Group will pray the Rosary at 6:00 pm on Friday. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Saturday until 10:30 am. Ricky as he was affectionately known was born in Church Point, LA on September 28, 1956 to the late Earl Lee Castille and Annie Herpin Castille. He passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 8:46 pm at his residence surrounded by his family. Some of Ricky's hobbies included woodworking, gardening, raising rabbits and spending time outdoors. He and Sylvia enjoyed traveling and camping. He will be remembered by his family as a practical joker who was infamous for scaring all the younger kids in the family. Although he had many interests in life, his greatest passion was spending time with his family. Survivors include his eternal love Sylvia Delome; his mother, Annie Herpin Castille; two grandchildren, Nicholas Castille, II and Michelle Castille; one great grandson, Nicholas Castille, III; two sisters, Martha Castille and Rita Ann C. Montet and husband Ricky; three brothers, Wayne Castille and wife Cindy; Dale Castille and wife Yolanda and Clint Castille and wife Cathy and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his father he is preceded in death by one son, Nicholas Earl Castille and one brother, Ronald Lee Castille. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Castille, Trey Latiolais, Rory Castille, Jeremy Castille, Brent Castille and Ricky Montet. Cory Montet, Michelle Castille, Michelle Sonnier, Kenley Sonnier and Kiley Sonnier will be honorary pallbearers. The family would like to thank Hope Hospice for all of the care given to Ricky in this most difficult time.
