Dwight Collins, 72, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023 in St Cloud, Florida He was born October 25, 1950, in Morgan County, Kentucky a son of the late Kelly and Maggie Lykins Collins In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Sue Fairchild Collins; and a sister, Melody Akers Dwight was owner of Trav-Mart Inc in Rush, Kentucky and served honorably in the Army National Guard He enjoyed collecting and restoring old cars and spending time with his family and friends Survivors include a son, Travis Collins and wife, Kimberly of Ashland; brother, Hal Collins of Morehead; sister, Gwen Tackett and husband, Rollie of Pikeville; grandchildren, Zachary Collins and wife, Grace, Alexis "Lexie" Collins and Jaxon Collins; step grandchildren, Shelby (Nathan) Jones, Thomas Keating and Emily Keating; and two step great grandchildren, Will and Theo Jones A celebration of Dwight's life will be held 11:00 a m Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at STEEN FUNERAL HOME 13TH STREET CHAPEL A private entombment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 p m until 8:00 p m at the funeral home To share a memory of Dwight or to extend condolences to his family, please visit: steenfuneralhome com

Pauline Canafax Biggs, age 92, of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Kings Daughter Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. She was born Tuesday, January 13, 1931, in Carter County, Kentucky, to the late Herbert and Nettie Kiser Canafax. Pauline was a native of Olive Hill, Kentucky, although she lived most of her ninety-two years in Ashland. She obtained a secretarial certification from Morehead State University, which provided valuable in her cherished role as both life and business partner, with her late husband Robert Gail Biggs, especially during his twenty-six year plus career as an Ashland area realtor. Pauline was working for The Department of The U. S. Navy, in Washington, D. C. , when she and Gail began their more than sixty year married life. A beloved mother of five children, she also relished every minute of her role of grandmother and great grandmother as well, making each and every one of this brood feel special with the genuine interest in their daily pursuits. A sought after listener among her far reaching circle of family and friends, Pauline very typically came up with encouraging words for all who engaged her counsel. Pauline enjoyed a good laugh or a quiet meditation with daily scripture readings in equal measure. Her calming, cheerful demeanor in each and every day was a virtue cherished by all who knew and loved this very real "Angel Among Us. "In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert Gail Biggs; one son, Ricky Allen Biggs; one grandson, Jonathan Crum; four brothers, Homer Canafax, Everett Canafax, Paul Canafax, Raymond Canafax; one sister, Marie Fields. Pauline is survived by two sons, Randall F. (Athena) Biggs of Hardeeville, South Carolina, Ronnie L. (Dana) Biggs of Cattletsburg, Kentucky; two daughters, Lola (Rick) Mayne of Canal Winchester, Ohio, Lisa (Jeff) Crum of Flower Mound, Texas; fourteen grandchildren, Michael Mayne, Kipp (Vickie) Mayne, Robby Biggs, Chris Biggs, Josh Lyle, Cassie Biggs, Lauren (Aaron) Horner, Shauna Biggs, Katelyn Biggs, Kelsey (TJ) Burge, Bethany (Ron) Gehringer, Baley (Bryan) Rakes, Austin Crum and Heather Crum; seven great-grandchilden, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her. Graveside services will be held 4 p. m. , Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Garvin Ridge Cemetery, Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Pastor Keith Menshouse officiating. Ron Gehringer, Gunner Gehringer, Bryan Rakes, Michael Mayne, Kipp Mayne and Austin Crum will serve as pallbearers. John Drexel Fullerton went running and shouting into the arms of Jesus on November 9, 2023. He was 82 years old. He died at his home with his sister Nancy and brother-in-law Gary by his side, as well as his Kingsbrook Lifecare Center family whom had provided loving care and opportunities for a social and meaningful life. He loved them in return. He was also under the care of Community Hospice for the past two weeks whom also provided exceptional care and support. John was born the third child of the late Claude "Bud" Drexel and Jessie Louise Harris Fullerton on March 27, 1941. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by sisters Mary Jo Baum and husband Richard of Deltona, FL and Norma Jean Weidenheller and husband John T. , of Ashland. John had the disadvantage of being born with Cerebral Palsy, but lived a life of love and attention from his family, who included him in all their activities. In the years at Kingsbrook, he enjoyed playing Bingo, going out to eat with the residents and especially participating in the senior Olympics every fall at Scioto County Fairgrounds. Nancy and Gary would always go with them to the games. He was very observant and would always keep the staff in line if they missed something! He is survived by his baby sister Nancy Edmond and her husband Gary of Ashland, two nieces Gail Baum Bennett and husband Leland and their daughter Katelyn of Loudon, TN, Cathy Edmond Hanson and husband Joe and their son Mussie of Marengo, OH, their daughters Sarah and Brandon Wheeler of Marengo, OH, Emily and Joel Mullen of Louisville, KY, three nephews David Baum and wife Diane of Lakewood, CA, David Edmond and wife Mindy and their children Ryan, Jesse, Megan Edmond of Anderson, SC, Richard Edmond and wife Kelley of Oceanside, CA and their son Hunter of Ft. Hood, TX, their daughter Haley of Columbia, SC and five great nieces and nephews, Rylie, Teagan, Ben, Johah and Myles. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, November 13, 2023 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th St. Chapel by KDMC Chaplain Deanna Bradley. Burial will follow at the Bellefonte Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be prior to services Monday at the funeral home from 11:00am until service time.
