Keith Lashley

Age - 77

December 7, 2023

Keith Lamont Lashley, son of John and Ira Lashley was born September 30, 1946 in Barbados. He was the father of Kia Lashley, loving grandfather of Saryia and great grandfather of Nick. Keith was the brother of Jeffrey, Elsa, Edwin, Maggie, Mignell, Sandra and the late Velda, Janette, Vance and Carlisle. Uncle of Jackie, Dale, Glen, Allison, Tracy, Jarrod, Sean, Justin and many other nieces and nephews and other relatives. Brother in law of Mark Bowen. Keith had many friends, too numerous to mention, but he had a special bond with Curtis King. Keith migrated to Boston in 1979. He worked at Beth Israel Hospital in the dietary department then moving on to be an orderly and then to working for Pitts Company. He attended Home Builders Institute in 1991 and received certification in Rehab construction. Keith was well known in Dorchester and Mattapan and especially in the Montserrat community where he enjoyed playing dominoes. Keith also had a great sense of humor! once he was laying bricks down in Jeffrey's yard, and Jeffrey pointed out an uneven spot to him. His response was "you are trying to intimidate me. " Keith also surprised us one day when he showed off his dancing skills of James Brown, as he said Brown was a better dancer than Michael Jackson. Keith was very caring and funny at times. He was a hard worker and learned masonry with our dad, and when dad became ill and unable to work, Keith stepped forward and took care of the finances of the home. He was also very generous and always provided his nieces and nephews with spending money when they came to visit. Keith was visited by Jeffrey and I on Friday before his transition. During our visit he inquired about, serval family members, including his mother and he wanted to know how long it has been since our sister Janette passed away. He was always thinking of others. Keith was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and was treated with chemo and radiation and spent 1 year at BMC before he was transferred for Hospice care at West Newton Health Care where he spent another year before his passing on Monday, November 27, 2023. As we were leaving him he sat up in bed, made a fist and gave me "the bump". Keith will be sadly missed but he is in a better place. May God bless his soul. Along with his younger brother and sister, Winston immigrated to Boston Massachusetts in 1970 where he resided until his transition to his heavenly home the day after Thanksgiving 2023. In middle school, Winston excelled academically and received a double promotion. . He graduated from Jeremiah Burke High School and chose building trades as a career. He earned an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Newbury Junior College. Winston was employed with a number of prestigious construction firms, working on complicated development projects up and down the east coast. His specialty, however, was in sheet metal. Due to his vast experience and knowledge in the trades, he decided to venture out and form his own construction company. Winston successfully ran his company for over 20 years until health issues prevented him from continuing. Winston loved the Lord. With the encouragement of his sister Joan, he became a member of St. Paul AME Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Winston loved his church and immersed himself in its ministry. Over time he became a church trustee. Winston enjoyed singing and dancing. He had a large repertoire of music. For over 20 years he sang with the men's choir. The psalmist replied, " O Lord, truly I am your servant. " Winston heard this question & answered the call. Family was Winston's primary passion. Dolores Dyson

Dolores Dyson

Age - 78

November 30, 2023

Dolores Lorraine Dyson was born and raised on 116th Street in Harlem, NYC , to the parents of Gasten and Althea Dyson. Dolores' siblings Sandra Eleanor Dyson, Gloria Edwina Dyson, Judith Carol Dyson, Rodney Edward Dyson, Jacqueline Althea Dyson, and Wayne Steven Dyson. Dolores Lorraine Dyson, known affectionately as Dee, was a remarkable individual who underwent a transformative journey from city life to embracing the countryside. Alabama captured her heart, and what was initially a visit turned into years of contentment. She found solace in the tranquility, the pecan trees, Crepe myrtle trees, and the beauty of the flowers that adorned her beloved home. Above all, Dee cherished the fresh country air and the peacefulness she experienced there. It was a dream come true, and she took great joy in owning her first home. Dee had an abundance of talents, making her truly special. She possessed intelligence, a beautiful singing voice, and the ability to effortlessly write poetry. Additionally, she had a knack for sewing and possessed an extraordinary memory for every detail of our childhood. Although she may have been considered shy and struggled with self-esteem, Dee had a gift for conversation. She loved to talk and share stories with her loved ones. Among her many passions, Dee had a deep love for her children, Brian, Kareem, Sharif and Jai'me. She loved her family, and flowers, particularly Crepe Myrtle trees. However, what truly stood out about her was her unwavering love and devotion to the Lord. Anytime we would call her, she would be sitting in her favorite chair, surrounded by gospel music, reading her Bible. Every morning, she would send a prayer to her children, siblings, and close friends, spreading her love for God. Dee's creativity was evident in her ability to transform discarded items into something beautiful. She once brought a discarded couch into her home in NYC and reupholstered it in zebra fabric, making it look brand new. She also played a significant role in her sister Jacqui's modeling career, designing both pants and dresses for her portfolio. Aunt Dee had a mischievous side and a radiant smile that attracted many. She even caught the attention of Bobby Womack's drummer at the Apollo, leading to a special visit to Boston, where they met at sister Judy's house. Dee lived her life guided by the scripture from 1 Corinthians 2:9, which states, "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. " This verse served as a reminder of the abundance of blessings that awaited those who loved and served the Lord. We will deeply miss Dolores, but we find solace in knowing that she is now in the presence of our departed loved ones, including Mom, Dad, Aunt Glo, and Uncle Rod. Farewell for now, Dee. We will see you again someday. With all our love, Always. To to the family or in memory of Dolores L. Dyson, pleaseShow more
