Douglas Burke Obituary

Douglas P. Burke, 74, of Avon, passed away, Thursday, April 20, 2023. Born in Hartford, son of the late Henry and Beverlee (Schorer) Burke, he was raised in West Hartford. Doug graduated from Hall High School in the Class of 1967 and earned both his BA and Master's Degrees from Central Connecticut State University. Doug raised his family in California, where he lived for many years. He built a career in sales and finance and retired as a financial advisor with Golden Crest Wealth Management of San Jose, CA. Doug was active in the Men's Ministry at Valley Community Baptist Church in Avon as well as the Men's Bible Study. He was an avid reader, loved music from the 1960's, and enjoyed spending time at the beach. Doug leaves his daughter Kristin L. Mercer and her husband Shawn of Frederick, CO; his son Kevin P. Burke and his wife Ashley of Thornton, CO; his grandchildren Khloe Burke and William and Lily Mercer; his sister Terrie Burke of Simsbury; and his brother Henry "Bud" Burke and his wife Joanne of Simsbury.
