Dorothy M. Zongker, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Sandstone Heights in Little River, KS. She was born November 23, 1934, in Hartman, CO, the daughter of William Floyd and Ruth Alma (Lambert) Kelley. Dorothy graduated from Greensburg High School in 1952 and worked for USD 300 as the secretary and retired after 20 years. On July 13, 1952, she married Elven Zongker in Ulysses, KS. She was a member of the NARFE. Dorothy loved spending time with her family. She had many interests and hobbies. She spent a lot of her free time sewing and had made quilts for her children and grandchildren. One of her hobby of the year was "Rabbits". Dorothy and Elven were avid square dancers and were members of the Kiowa County Kickers Club. Dorothy is preceded by her parents; her husband, Elven; and a sister, Margaret Huey. She is survived by her two sons, Randall (Susan) Zongker and Kirk (Kathy) Zongker; two daughters, Debra Erxleben and Shana (Jesse) Burgess; one sister, Doris Allen; nine grandchildren, Amanda (Joshua) Linnell, Sarah (Preston) Snider, Adam (Jessica) Zongker, Molly (Pippin) Williamson, Luke (Jessica) Zongker, Grace (Lane) Wiens, Faith Zongker, Nathan (Kellie) Lawless, and Loren (Kate) Lawless; and 18 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 A. M. on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Hutchinson Funeral Chapel, 300 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, KS. Inurnment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, KS. Memorial donations may be made to Sandstone Heights Memorial Fund and can be sent in care of Hutchinson Funeral Chapel.

Golda Marie Pope, 89, of Hutchinson, KS, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 2, 2023. She was born on April 25, 1934, in Agenda, KS, to James Vernon Walker and Orpha Evelyn (Kramer) Walker. Golda was a 1952 graduate of Concordia High School and received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Kansas in 1957. On June 27, 1959, Golda married Russell Hindle Pope, in Overland Park, KS. They shared nearly 64 years of marriage before his death on March 8, 2023. She is survived by: children, Mary (John) Denny of Hutchinson, KS, Rachel (Paul) Wakefield of Hutchinson, KS, Matthew (Elaine) Pope of Hutchinson, KS, Ellen (David) Stebbings of Attleboro, MA, James (Wendy) Pope of Hutchinson, KS, and Steve (Amy) Pope of Colorado Springs, CO; 19 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members. Golda was blessed and grateful to have such a large and loving family. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Russell; and brother, James Walker. Golda had a servant's heart and poured herself out for others. Her love language was cooking and she made popcorn, cookies, and meals for many, many people. When Golda wasn't in the kitchen, you could find her in the garden. She took great joy in growing and giving away produce. No matter what she was doing, Golda did her work "heartily, as unto the Lord. " She was a wonderful model of hard work, perseverance, and faithfulness and had a knack for finding and helping those who needed a friend. You couldn't be around Golda long before she would start sharing her Jesus. She was a bold witness and discipled many in the faith including her children, grandchildren, and countless staff at Kansas Bible Camp. Other passions were books and hymns. Golda was an avid reader and loved poetry, committing many poems to memory and writing several of her own. Next to her Bible where she would read at the dining room table there was always a stack of various hymn books. Golda used her nursing degree at Golden Plains Health Care Center and Good Samaritan Society, Hutchinson, KS, and in caring for her aging parents, in-laws and aunts, and her husband, Russell, over the span of 35 years. It was a drive given to her by God. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:30 p. m. Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Hutchinson Gospel Chapel, 2005 Hendricks Street, Hutchinson, KS, with Jeremy Goering officiating. A livestream of the service will be available on the Hutchinson Gospel Chapel Facebook page. A private family burial will take place at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, KS. Alicia Gomez Macias passed away on November 26th, 2023, at Hospice House in Hutchinson Kansas. Alicia was born on May 29th, 1946, in Rancho Seco Aguascalientes, Mexico. She is the daughter of Manuel and Cuca Gomez. While in Mexico she cared of her brothers and sisters, as she began a career in the health care industry alongside her mother. Alicia was a neighborhood advocate working with governors and the government to build homes and roads in less developed areas. Alicia dedicated her life to the healthcare profession. She was a nurse for 35 years. Through her tenure as a nurse, she cared for and touched the lives of many people who will truly miss her. She was a true angel and was loved by family and friends. Alicia was a resident of Hutchinson Kansas since 1985. During her time in Hutchinson, she worked in many places. Which included the Anchor Inn working for Tony Flores and his family. She was known for making the best flour tortillas and preaching the gospel to everyone she met. Alicia is survived by her son Sergio Gomez, seven grandchildren, and nine siblings Manuel Gomez, Jesus Gomez, Salvador Gomez, Juan Gomez, Irene Gomez, Rafael Gomez, San Juana Lucio, Jose Luis Gomez, and Leticia Gomez. She was proceeded in death by her parents Manuel Gomez and Cuca Gomez, a brother Antonio Gomez and nephew Alan Antonio Gomez. Funeral Service will be at 11:00. Monday, December 4th, 2023, at "Fe Viva" Iglesia del Nazareno, 820 Lincoln St, Hutchinson, KS 67501, with Pastor Edgar Lopez officiating. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery. George J. Tecklenburg, age 76, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at his home in Hutchinson, Kansas. He was born on April 28, 1947, in Scott City, Kansas, the son of Joseph Alfonzo and Ethel Pearl Ruffhead Tecklenburg. A lifetime resident of Scott City, Kansas, he was a retired maintenance operator at Ortho Fertilizer for 21 years. George was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, VFW & NRA. He was a past member of the Boy Scouts and had his pilot’s license. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and was a US Army Reservist for over 20 years. On September 26, 1969, he married Janet K. Matthies in Scott City, Kansas. She survives. Survivors include his Wife - Janet Tecklenburg of Hutchinson, Kansas, One Son - Chris & Shawna Tecklenburg of Hutchinson, Kansas, Two Daughters - Jill & Dennis Chelemedos of Scott City, Kansas, Terri & Jon Berning of Scott City, Kansas, One Sister - Sara & Dan Goodman of Scott City, Kansas, Nine Grandchildren, and Six Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his Parents and One Infant Brother - Dennis Michael Tecklenburg. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a. m. Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the First Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas with Steve Payne presiding. In Lieu of Flowers memorials can be written to the Scott Community High School for the mechanic’s class or to the Scott Community Foundation for the Scott County Veteran’s Memorial. Visitation will be from 2:00 p. m. until 8:00 p. m. Sunday, and 10:00 a. m. until 8:00 p. m. Monday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington Street, Scott City, Kansas.
