"Dorothy A. Thurman, 88, of Fishers, passed away September 27, 2023. She was born December 22, 1934 in Throgs Neck, New York to Daniel M. and Kathleen (Victor) Harrington. She graduated from Pompton Lakes High School, New Jersey, Class of 1952. Dorothy married William Herbert Thurman, January 30, 1960 and they had two sons. She was employed with Polygram Records for 20 years and retired in 1995 as Regional Director of Credit. Dorothy is survived by her sons, David Wayne (Joyce) Thurman and Mark Edward (Kelly) Thurman; stepchildren, Donna (Newt) Newsom and William Thurman, Jr. ; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, William H. Thurman; two sisters, Margaret Mary Kafka and Julia Denise Burgoyne; and a brother, Daniel David Harrington. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hamilton County Humane Society and/or ASPCA. Final care and arrangements are entrusted to Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel. "

He was born on December 22, 1943 to William and Marthann (Johnson) Alexander in Boxley, Indiana. For 36 years, Steve worked for Delco-Remy, and owned and operated Alexander's Auto and Radiator Repair since 1978. He is survived by his sons, Kyle (Yvonne) Alexander and Matthew Alexander; brother, Michael (Kim) Alexander; many nieces & nephews; 3 grandchildren, Morgan (Dustin) Scott, Dalton Alexander, and Logan (Sara-Beth) McCormick; and 2 great-grandchildren, Gunner McCormick and Oaklee Scott. In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Lorinne McCormick; and his brothers, John Alexander and Richard Alexander. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville. Ashwinbhai V Patel, 87, of Fishers, passed away December 4, 2023. He was born in Gujarat, India to the late Vaghibhai and Surajba Patel on August 9, 1936. Ashwinbhai worked as an accountant for a renowned auto dealership in India. He married his late wife Indira Patel on March 29, 1956, and thereafter went on to have three children. He immigrated to the United States in 1994 and settled in Indiana. He is fondly remembered for his love of gardening, drinking beer, eating sweets and good food, as well as spending quality time with his family. He is survived by his children, Rajesh (Jagruti) Patel, Rita (Pravin) Desai, and Sangita Patel; five grandchildren Chinmay (Krishna) Desai, Romik (Lekha) Desai, Rikin (Brittanie) Patel, Yukti (Dhruv) Patel, and Purva Patel; and six great-grandchildren, Kriya, Vaani, Laksh, Ajay, Dhru, and Reva. Ashwinbhai was preceded in death by his brother, Ravjibhai Patel; and his wife, Indira Patel. Rosemary Antonides

Rosemary (Rosie) Antonides of Fishers, IN passed away on Tuesday December 5, 2023. Rosemary was born to the late Willis Burk and Isabel Dunham Burk in Noblesville on October 18, 1935. She is survived by her daughter Kathy Antonides and brother Charles (Rusty) Burk. Rosemary married her late husband Marvin (Pete) Antonides on March 6, 1954. She retired from Washington Twp Schools where she was a bookkeeper. During her working career, she also worked for Mt. Vernon Community Schools and Carmel Community Schools, as well as the Fortville Bureau of Motor Vehicles in the late 1960’s. Rosemary was 1986 President of the Indiana Assoc of Educational Secretaries. She headed up a Red Hats Society group of ladies in her Bluestone neighborhood. Due to her love of quilting she co-founded Mudsock Quilters Guild. She enjoyed entertaining, flower gardening and crafting. Rosemary was a member of the Fishers United Methodist Church and Eden Chapter #101 Order of the Eastern Star. A memorial gathering will be held at Indiana Funeral Care – Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250 on Tuesday, December 12 from 1pm to 3pm, with a memorial service beginning at 3pm. Terry Howell

After a multi-year battle with Lewy Body Dementia Terry Howell of Fishers, IN passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 2, 2023. Terry is remembered by his friends and family as a kind man with a quick wit and warm and genuine smile. His biggest loves in life included Michigan State Football and Basketball and his family, especially the one true love of his life, Marsha, who he was married to for 50+ years. It brings us much peace to know that they are now reunited. Terry was born on January 6, 1950. After graduating from Pike Delta York High School in Delta, OH he briefly attended Bowling Green State University. He worked much of his career in the agriculture supply selling fertilizer and Potash to farmers in Northwestern Ohio and Central Michigan. Later in life Terry found his calling as a bus driver for Hamilton Southeastern School system in Indianapolis, IN. Having experience driving multi-axle vehicles meant that he was a natural. He quickly became known as the driver who could get a bus out of most tough spots. Chaperones still marvel over the day he backed a bus full of fifth graders almost a mile down a one-lane country road in Southern Indiana after encountering a bridge closure. All the kids sat in silence and then erupted in cheers when he safely reached the intersection so they could continue on their way to overnight camp. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Flora Jane (Blosser) Howell and his wife of 52 years Marsha (Eidenier) Howell. He is survived by his daughter Sara (Howell) Fleury of Indianapolis, IN, his son Nicholas (Karl Barr) Howell Grosse Pointe, MI, his brother Mike (Vicky) Howell of Goshen, IN and his granddaughter Kendal Fleury of Indianapolis, IN. Sara would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to Story Cottage and Senior Home Companions in Indianapolis, IN. The love and support these two organizations provided Terry during these final tough years truly went above and beyond all expectations. A gathering will be planned for early 2024 to celebrate the lives of both Terry and Marsha. Both will be interred in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta, OH. Harold D. Funkhouser Jr. , 84 of McCordsville, died peacefully in his sleep on December 1, 2023 at Hamilton Trace in Fishers. A native of Indianapolis, he worked his entire career as a pipefitter at Western Electric/AT&T Technologies both in Indianapolis and Richmond, Virginia. He was a member of the Fishers Church of Christ where he served as a song leader. He is survived by his wife, Linda Davidson Funkhouser; his sister, Peggy Funkhouser Stotts of Danville; his two children, Neil R. Funkhouser of New York City and Lynn E. England of Fishers; his grandchildren, Matthew England (Katie) of Roland, Iowa, and Caitlin England (Brendan Smith) of Fishers; and one great-grandson, Andrew B. England of Roland, Iowa. "Tatsuko Machida Hendrix, 95, of Fishers, Indiana passed away peacefully on November 27, 2023. She was born February 22, 1928 in Kyusha, Japan to the late Shigeo Machida and Take Uchida. After WWII Tatsuko was employed by the U. S. Military as a waitress at an Officers Club, then as a salesperson at a Post Exchange. During the Korean War she worked at a Marine Air Base as a housekeeper for Squadron Commanders. In 1955 one Squadron Commander invited her to visit he and his family in Wichita, Kansas, where she met her future husband, David Thomas Hendrix. They were married 67 years. After coming to America and Tatsuko was employed with Continental Baking Company, owned by Hostess/Wonder Bread. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Tatsuko is survived by her loving husband, David T. Hendrix; daughter, Teresa Kay Mewborn (Dan); grandson, Jason Mewborn (Maryn); and great-granddaughter, Marina Mewborn. "84, of Fishers, IN, passed peacefully at home on November 24, 2023. Bettye's last day was spent enjoying the traditions of Thanksgiving surrounded by family who loved her dearly. Born in Kentucky on June 17, 1939, she was the daughter of Arthur and Morbrey Lindsey and was a devoted wife to her late husband of 40 years, Chet McGraw. Bettye worked in retail management and accounting for over 20 years, retiring in 2010. She was involved in several clubs and social organizations including Mud Socks Quilting Club, The Red Hat Society, and Legacy Bible Church. Bettye enjoyed playing cards with her community group at Britton Falls, gardening, and was a wonderful seamstress and baker. Visitation will be Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 11:00 a. m. until the time of service at 1:00 p. m. at Shirley Brothers Fishers-Castleton Chapel, 9900 Allisonville Road, Fishers, IN 46038.
