"Dorothy Marie Price, of Clear Lake Shores, Texas, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023 in League City, Texas at the age of 100. She was born on April 23, 1923 in Henderson, Texas to Thomas and Minnie Pool. she was preceded in death by her husband Tyler A. Price. Dorothy is survived by her son Tommy A. Price, daughters Sherry Little, Connie Beene, brother Thomas Pool, Jr. , grandchildren Stephen Little, Shane Little, Scott Little, Debbie Foxworth, Dena Fuller, Amy Price, David Price, 15 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren and many other loving family and friends. A Grave Side Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 10:00am at Lakewood Memorial Park in Henderson, Texas under the direction of Crawford - A Crim Funeral Home, located at 1414 S Main St, Henderson, TX 75654. On Thanksgiving day, November 23, our mother Genevieve Lowry Cole, passed away peacefully just shy of her 91st birthday. A native of Pembroke, NC, daughter of John R. Lowry and Stella L Lowry, she is survived by her three sons, Eric (Wendy) of League City, Texas, Marc (Tracy) of Holly Springs, North Carolina, and Christopher (Alison) of Hurdle Mills, North Carolina. She is also survived by her three granddaughters Reece, Ayden, and Riley. In 1950, Genevieve graduated as valedictorian of Pembroke High School. In 1954, she became the first female Native American to graduate from the University of North Carolina, earning a degree in medical technology. She later returned to UNC, earning her masters degree in public health, and spent the better part of 50 years as a medical technologist at the state lab in Raleigh, and at Duke University. In recognition of her achievements in Chapel Hill, she is honored as a UNC "Noteworthy First", whereby scholarships and grants are given in her name as a pathbreaking Tar Heel. She was an active member of the UNC board of visitors, and a docent in the Duke Chapel. Always enthusiastic and active, she dedicated the last 30 years of her life to traveling the world and climbing mountains. To our mother, we want to express our deepest gratitude for her endless devotion and encouragement. We are forever grateful. A church service will be held at 11AM on December 16, at First United Methodist Church, 100 Breece Street, Pembroke, NC. "It is with great sadness that Carole Lohr Edwards "Mee-Maw", 79 years old, of League City, Texas, passed away on October 14, 2023, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Carole was the daughter of Paul Best Koonce and Bernice Victoria Koonce. She was born in Houston, Texas on March 22, 1944. She graduated from Milby High School where she participated in many extra-curricular activities including Major for Milby Cadettes drill team. She continued her education at the University of Houston where she received her degree in Interior Design and was President of her sorority, Delta Gamma. Carole later earned her Masters Degree in Information Systems. She was proud to be part of the team developing and supporting the Space Station and various other projects through-out her career. Carole enjoyed tennis, dancing, socializing and country music. She had an incredible personality full of wit, love and irreverence all wrapped into one. She was an accomplished artist in both painting and sketch. But above all else, she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. We will miss her immensely. Carole is survived by her son Rick Lohr and wife Shanna Lohr; two grandchildren Davis and Ava Lohr; her brother and wife, Neil and Sandi Koonce; and nephew and niece David Koonce and Melinda Booth. All of these she loved and touched deeply. She leaves behind many friends from her years growing up and residing in the Houston area as well. Mr. Keith Lamar Westfall passed away on Tuesday, October 31st, 2023, in League City, Texas after a courageous battle with cancer. Keith was born in Dalton, Georgia on May 3rd, 1969, to Bill (Manning) Westfall and Kate Westfall. Keith loved his wife, son, family, and friends. Keith also loved to travel, deep sea fish, Alaska, and his Georgia Bulldogs. Keith had a loving spirit, and his smile could light up any room that he entered. Keith grew up in Dalton, Georgia graduating from Dalton High School in 1987. Keith moved to Houston, Texas in 1996 where he pursued a degree from San Jacinto College. Keith graduated from college in 1999 with a degree in Chemical Process Technology. Keith started an extensive career in chemical processing in 1999, working for several companies before starting with Shell Chemical in 2007. Keith was a dedicated employee at Shell for over 16 years. Keith was one of only a few operators who was chosen by Shell to help turn around many chemical plants around the United States and in foreign countries. Keith officially retired from Shell in 2023, to dedicate the remainder of his life to his wife and son. Keith met his wife Kayla, in Houston in 2013. They married on June 27th, 2014, in Houston, Texas. Keith and Kayla shared a love of travel and went on many wonderful trips during their 10 years together. Keith and Kayla were blessed with a son Dylan in 2016. Keith was a dedicated father and husband and loved to spend time with his family traveling and adventuring. Keith visited over 15 countries during his lifetime, experiencing many cultures throughout the world. Keith was proceeded in death by his grandparents Lamar and Mary Westfall. Keith is survived by his loving wife Kayla, and son Dylan, his mother Kate Westfall and his father Mr. William Manning Westfall and stepmother Peggy. Keith is also survived by many family members including his cousin Kim Westfall Kiker and her children Caroline and Harrison Kiker, Uncles and Aunts, Mark and Candi Westfall, James Westfall and Steve and Kim Westfall. Keith is also survived by many special friends in Houston and Dalton. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to MD Anderson Cancer Institute or First Baptist Church of Pasadena. The funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church Pasadena, Friday, November 3, at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Forest Park East Cemetery.Show more
