Dorothy King Obituary

"Dot, age 86, joined her husband in Heaven on Sunday, May 7, 2023. She was currently residing in AR with her family. Dot was an extremely strong and independent woman. She always made sure her family had what they needed and went out of her way to care for them. Dot adored her family, but the ones that called her Maw Maw held a special place in her heart. She enjoyed going to the casino with friends, but cooking for Saturday breakfast was her favorite. Dot was a loving and faithful woman who always put others before herself. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with those she loved. Dot will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Salmon (James), Peggy Kemp (Norman Jr. ); son, Philip King; sisters, Betty, Pam, Sharon, Debra; brother, Jimmy; grandchildren, Tabatha Golding (Scott), Norman Kemp III (Jenny), Kristina Kemp (Chris), Gabbi King (Charae); and great-grandchildren, Madison Golding and Jaxon Hebert. Dot is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby King; parents, Rosa and Jack Moore; brothers, Jackie, Gary; and sisters, Ada Ruth and Snookie. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home at 1190 Hwy 51 N. Ponchatoula, LA 70454 on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 10:00 a. m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p. m. Interment will follow in Rosaryville Cemetery. "
