ary Alice Truluck went home to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on November 29, 2023. Mary worked for the Manatee County School District at Bashaw Elementary for 32 years. She enjoyed putting together photo albums and doing word searches. She also enjoyed her job and spending time with her husband and family. Mary is survived by a loving husband, Fred Truluck. They celebrated 50 years of marriage on November 17, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents James Virgil and Sarah Doris Godwin; sisters Maude Harrod, Shirley Kersey, and Rhoda Ann Baird; brothers James Godwin Jr. , Johnny Godwin, and David Godwin. She is survived by her daughter Denise Long (Doug) of Lakewood Ranch, FL; daughter Rhonda Wilson (Karl) of Cumming, GA; son Donnie Truluck of Bradenton, FL. She is also survived by her grandchildren Shelby Hallenbeck, Jordan Wilson, AlyBeth Wilson, Jakob Wilson, and Astrid Truluck. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Aubrey Johnson and CJ Johnson. She is also survived by her sister Birdie Roberts of Palmetto, FL; sister Peggy Porter of Parrish, FL; and brother Joe Godwin of Bradenton, FL. Too many nieces and nephews to mention. . . William A. "Bill" Rose, 80, passed away on November 28, 2023, in Bradenton, Florida. He was born May 27, 1943, in Syracuse, New York, to Carl and Eileen (Hickey) Rose. Bill was a loving man who was always willing to help out a family member or friend with anything they needed. He loved to fish and enjoyed watching golf and football, following the New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints. He liked to work in hospitality, having worked at Walmart as a greeter, Publix in customer service, and more recently, at Kona Brewing at the Sarasota airport. His "handlebar" moustache was a popular photo opportunity wherever he went. He is predeceased by his parents; son, Darren Rose; brother, Richard Rose. He is survived by his daughter, Alison (Mark) Rose, who lives in Rockland, MA, and the mother of his children, Marilyn Rose, who lives in New York. lice passed away peacefully in her Bradenton, Florida home surrounded by family. She was born in Bradenton to Merle and Mary Coble Tinkham. Alice, loved by her family and many friends, was always a bright light in people's lives. She was a pillar in the community volunteering her time for many years with Trinity Methodist Church and The Children's Haven. With that same generous spirit, she regularly donated to many local organizations including The Manatee Community Foundation, The Manatee Players, The Boys' and Girls' Club, and many more. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Louis Gary Trice; brother, James Tinkham of Huntsville, AL; daughters and sons-in-law, Allison Kaffka (Miroslav Kaffka) and Cindy Trice (James White); and granddaughter Hana Kaffka, all of Bradenton FL. Services will be held Thursday, December 7th at Trinity Methodist Church 3200 Manatee Ave. W. Bradenton, FL 34205 at 1 pm. Memorial gifts may be made to The Manatee Community Foundation. David Alan Preston, 80, of Parrish, Florida, passed away at Manatee Memorial Hospital in the early morning hours of Monday, November 20, 2023. David was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on December 25, 1942, to Henry Peshek and Helen (nee Lang) Peshek. He grew up in Independence, Ohio, and graduated from Independence High School in 1961 where he played basketball, football, and baseball. He then attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, on a track scholarship and graduated in 1965. On August 22, 1965, Dave was united in marriage with Gereen (Gerri) Van Vleet in the Ohio University Chapel. The couple lived the majority of their marriage in Mequon-Thiensville, Wisconsin. They had 4 children and were married 58 years. Dave's favorite pastime was playing a round of golf with his friends and family. He also enjoyed skiing, home improvement projects, and supporting his children's sports activities. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes. Dave got in on the ground floor of the computer industry in 1966, establishing a career in information technology where he formed long-term relationships with his colleagues. He is preceded in death by his parents. Dave is survived by his wife, Gereen; children, Scott Preston (Tracy), Wendy (Craig) Smith, Terry Preston (Aimee), Andrew Preston (Vanitha); 9 grandchildren: Brady and Chloe Preston; Preston and Abigail Smith; Chase, Alivia and Miles Preston; Arya and Kian Preston; one brother, Kenneth Preston; nephews and nieces.
