"Mary Winter Ermis was born April 18, 1940, in Fulton, Kentucky and peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 18, 2023, in Huntsville, Texas. She is now in her heavenly home alongside her beloved husband, Denson Ermis, her parents Mary Meek Winter and George Winter, and her brother Butch Winter. Mary lived a life of service to others and was a faithful follower of Christ. Growing up, she was a hard-working daughter and a loyal and compassionate sister after the sudden loss of their mother. Mary was also a devoted wife, and loving mother to her three children. She was always an integral part of the communities that she lived and where she worked as a nurse. Even while living in her retirement center (Carriage Inn - Huntsville, Tx), she offered help to other residents that were in distress. Mary was also an active member of her 42 group, exercise class, any special event/excursion she could sign-up for. Mary never met a stranger and was loved by all that knew her. Mary started her career in nursing and went on to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. She loved her job and the opportunities to travel that came with it. Working in assignments ranging from all over Northeast Texas, New Mexico, Michigan, North Carolina, and Tennessee; she ended her career working in Louisville, Kentucky. She served others as a nurse for over 56 years which gave her so many interesting stories to tell! Mary also loved shopping and fine dining experiences which continued throughout her life! Mary is survived by her son, Link and his wife Amanda H. Ermis, her daughter Amanda B. Ermis, her son Cord Ermis and life-partner Michelle Hinojosa, her sister Lucy and her husband Dennis Johnston, her brother Dick and his wife Laura Winter, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Mary was the proud grandmother of 6 and great-grandmother of 12. . . . and counting! She had also made many sweet new friends at Carriage Inn, Huntsville, TX where she has resided for the past year. A memorial service will be held on December 10th at 2:00 at Stanley Chapel in Midway, Tennessee. Interment will be at the adjoining cemetery. Dixon Ann Yarbrough (Smith) Lichtenauer, born January 11, 1934, all fingers and toes according to her parents, Elsie M. (Rehm) and Jasper Henry Yarbrough. She is preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Louis Lichtenauer, her sister, Elsie Margaret Barrier, brother-in-law Charles, her brother Robert Jasper Yarbrough, sister-in-law June. Dixon has resided in Timberbay subdivision, Trinity, Texas since 1992. She grew up in the subdivision, East Haven, off 45 and Spencer, Houston, Texas. She attended Pasadena ISD, where she was a member of the Student Council, band, Choir and Thespain. She was the Basketball Queen her sophomore year and FFA Sweetheart her Senior year. She was awarded a full scholarship to Sam Houston University and University of Houston, which she attended receiving a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. Dixon taught music in the Houston ISD for 10 years, one year in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, also taught private piano for 20 years. A substitute teacher in the Huntsville ISD from 2005-2013, and her own contracting business, Bilda, with her husband. While a member of Sweet Adeline International she sang in two regional Championship quartets, directed a regional Championship chorus and also directed two other local chapters in Livingston and Humble, Texas. She is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-laws Michael Wayne Smith and Nancy Lynn, Mark Alan Smith and Dawn. Her step-daughter Debra Lynn Hall and Steve Hall, Deceased step-son William Randall Lichtenauer, Step-daughter-in-law Carolyn Poore, Step-daughter Delores Denise Lichtnerauer, Step-grand-daughters Larisa Carol Cronce and Chad Aaron, Holly, Scottie and Abigail, Step-grand-sons Brian Randall Lichtenauer and Chanta, Jeremy preceded in death by his brother Justin, Ryan E and Dustin Troy, Houston, Christopher W. , Dylan and Riley Nathaniel. Step-great-grand-daughter Kaitlyn, Step-great-grand-sons Rees Aaron and Jayce Aaron. Visitation will be held at Waller Thornton Funeral Home, 203 San Jacinto, Trinity, Texas on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM.
