Richard P. McNally, 47, of Jewett City CT beloved son to Sally McNally (Ladd) and the late Kenneth F. McNally, entered into eternal rest Tuesday January 16th 2024 at his home with family. His heart of this world may have failed but his spirit was stubbornly strong. Rich was born on July 11, 1976 in Putnam CT. After Rich graduated from Killingly High School in 1994, he went on to work at Cargill Chevrolet in Putnam, and Fox 61 WTIC in advertising/sales, anyone who knew Rich would tell you he could sell wood to a forest! He was an avid sports fan playing Little League in Dayville and KBF football as a child, later becoming a die-hard Patriot and Boston Red Sox fan. Rich would be displeased if we went any further without mentioning his beloved dog Emma "babygirl" because honestly, he might have loved her more than he did us. Rich is survived by his fiance, Nicole Nordstrom, and her two sons Brandon and Jessie of Jewett City; his Brother Jason McNally of Danielson, adored uncle Jim Ladd. Rich had a smile that lit up every room, and could talk endlessly about anything! He was never one for religiosity but he would have wanted you to know that if he owed you a beer, or anything at all, and if you can find him in Heaven, he will gladly buy you another or lend you his ear. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, he is loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure! To to the family or in memory of Richard Patrick McNally, please

Linda Ann Claar, 71, of Jewett City, beloved wife for 18 years of Howard Gore, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 10, 2023. Linda was born in Norwich, daughter of the late Henry and Denise (Croissant) Brochu, and graduated from Norwich Free Academy. She was employed as a hemodialysis technician at Backus Hospital for 10 years before becoming the housekeeping manager at Foxwoods, and then later at Mohegan Sun, retiring after 15 years of service. Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will fondly be remembered as a woman who love unconditionally, accepted everyone with open arms, and loved her family more than anything. She was generous to a fault and was admired for always being the first one to reach out to someone in need. Linda was an amazing mother and taught her children the value of family, always treating others the way you want to be treated, strong morals, discipline, and how to be the best person possible. She had the soul of an angel and the heart of a lion; was the kindest person you could ever meet, but definitely tough when she needed to be. Linda adored her children and grandchildren and enjoyed celebrating all their accomplishments and supported their choices. She kept all of their creations close to her heart no matter how small, from their report cards to their art projects and cards and notes they gave to her. Linda was also a wonderful listener and was the best person to go to when you had a problem and needed some solid non-judgmental advice. Linda loved having her family together and hosting family and friends at her home for holiday events, especially Christmas Eve. She was a wonderful cook and will always be remembered for her famous macaroni salad on Christmas Eve and her potato salad for summer picnics. Linda loved going to the beach and, in her younger years, traveling to Belgium to visit family and to Maine to go to the Fryeburg Fair. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, puzzles, dancing, and listening to country music, especially Loretta Lynn. Linda absolutely loved to play cards with her husband and mother every Friday night and had a special place in her heart for all animals, but mostly birds and her cat, Rusty. Linda leaves a legacy of beautiful memories that will live in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her. In addition to the love of her life, Howard, Linda leaves to celebrate her memory, her children, Brian Barrows and his wife Loretta of Voluntown, Brenda Barrows and her fiance Richard Burdick of Jewett City, Jeffrey Barrows of Jewett City, Michael Barrows and his wife Cassandra of Jewett City, Chantel Claar and her significant other Joe Gagne of Middletown, and Alan Claar and his significant other Amy Miner of Bozrah; her grandchildren, who were the lights in her life, Ashley Grous, Sean Grous, Brandon Grous, Sarah Grous, Veronica Norkeveck and her husband Jason, Makayla Barrows, Gaige Barrows, Catherine Crisanti, and AJ Crisanti; her great grandchildren, LilyAna Grous, Aria Grous-Botticelli, Xavier Barrows, Bubba Croteau, Annie Crisanti, and Leo Crisanti; her brother, Walter Brochu and his significant other Carol Neilan; good friend, John Riley; her beloved cat, Rusty; and many other relatives and friends.
