Doris Mangold Davitt, 95, of Greene Township, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019. She was born in Erie, on September 22, 1923, a daughter of the late Frank and Sophia Zirkelbach Mangold. Doris graduated from Academy High School and was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. She enjoyed time spent with her family and will be remembered as a loving caregiver. Doris took great pride and joy spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Paul E. Davitt; and her many brothers and sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Eliason and her husband, Tim, of Erie; her two sons, Donald Davitt and Joe Davitt and his wife, Denise, all of Erie; six grandchildren, Timothy, Seth, and Jeremy Eliason, Scott Hayes, and Christopher and Rebecca Davitt; six great-grandchildren, Zakry Hayes, Sadie Mae, Charley Marie, Phillip, Warren, and Emma Eliason, and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd. Erie, 16504, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to call at St. Boniface Church the following morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery.
