Doris Crawford Obituary

Doris Helen Crawford of South Lyon and Ann Arbor, Michigan passed peacefully at the age of 75 after an extended battle with Scleroderma. Born in Pontiac, Michigan on September 17, 1947, Doris was the youngest of the siblings and grew up in Keego Harbor and South Lyon while spending most summers with her cousins in Caseville, Michigan. Forever remembered by her partner of over 40 years, Jody Reynolds. Doris will be recalled as a remarkable sister to Linda Gault of South Lyon and a devoted aunt, great aunt and cousin to many including her beloved Marcus Williams of Florida and Bobby John Parrot of Greenbush, Michigan and Norm Fultz, Darron Williams, Darlyne Gardner of South Lyon, Shelli Frazier of Florida, plus many other cousins, nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Doris Mabel Hockley Crawford, her sister Earline Crawford and brother Tom Crawford and her beloved niece, Honey Bun (Linda) Pena, all from South Lyon, Michigan. Doris was all about family, friends, and adventures; she was unafraid of living and inspired friends to find the courage to try new things alongside her. Doris had a quick wit, a wry sense of humor, a warm smile and was big hearted. You felt she liked you for the person you were, no need to be anyone else. She was on a mission in life to live it and anyone who wanted to, could join in the fun. She welcomed new friends but treasured her Tribe of Cronies, many of whom have been friends for 40+ years. She was their fearless leader, the compass who led them on endless adventures that she envisioned, planned, and summoned them to come along. Throughout her life Doris was known to be fiercely independent and competitive. She had a passion for sports, both live and fantasy, whether playing or coaching. She loved cooking and creating in the kitchen with the purpose of getting people together. She adored nicknames, had closets full of shoes and worshipped the sun.
