Doris Breen Obituary

Doris June Breen, 93, of Toronto, OH passed peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on April 22, 2023. She was born on June 14, 1929 in Stratton, OH, daughter of the late Ross G. Flanagan and Grace E. (Wilson) Flanagan. She married Charles H. Breen on January 7, 1949. Doris was a long-time member of the Church of the Nazarene, Stratton, OH, where she played the piano and organ. She worked at Kmart in Michigan and Ohio and at a flower shop in Almont, Michigan where she loved making floral arrangements. She was a 1948 graduate of Toronto High School where she played in the band. She loved playing the piano and organ, as well as singing in the church. She loved collecting keychains and had thousands of them. Doris loved nieces Christine Booth and the late Colleen Wagner's cinnamon rolls and desserts, and their visits. She enjoyed neighbor Cindy's breakfasts on the weekends. Doris was preceded in death by her husband Charles H. Breen, daughter Sherry Breen, sons Steve and John; Brother Ross (Buddy) Flanagan, sister Charlotte Flanagan, sister-in-law Phyllis Flanagan and great granddaughter Ashton McEwan. Doris is survived by daughter Janice (Darryl) Denton of Mio, MI, son Randy (Michele) Breen of Almont, MI, daughter Lori (Rick) Roy of Bloomingdale, OH, 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many other nieces and nephews. Also, a special thank you to her caregiver, Denise. Doris was well loved by everyone and will be missed . A celebration of life graveside service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, April 28th at the Sugar Grove Union Cemetery with Mr. John Keenan officiating. Interment will follow the graveside service. No visitation or services will be at the funeral home. All services will be at the Sugar Grove Union Cemetery.
