Dores was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on October 26th, 1950. The family relocated to the Tampa/Lutz FL area in 1959. Dores was employed by Clothworld (Northgate FL) for 25 years. She then worked for the United States Postal Service for over 30 plus years until the time of her passing. In Dores spare time, she was an active animal advocate and had a cat sanctuary that she dearly loved. She was proceeded in death by Clara Margaret Jones (Mother) Marvin Dale Jones (Brother), Forrest A. Jones (Father), Harold Hilton (Fiance). Survived by her siblings: Forrest Calvin Jones (Texas), Kathern Jones, Forrest Anthony Jones, and wife Bobbie Jones (Tampa) Nieces/Nephew: Lynnette Jones (Texas), Fallon Dominique and husband Burnelle Dominique (Louisiana), Danielle Jones, Forrest A Jones II (FL). Great Nieces: Kensley Clark (Texas), Alissa Dominique, Teresa Dominique, Ruth Dominique (Louisiana). Funeral services will be held at McDonald's Funeral Home - 10520 N Florida Ave, Tampa FL 33612. Viewing - Friday, September 1st, from 6 PM to 8 PM. Services - Saturday, September 2nd at 11AM with a graveside service at Lutz cemetery. Interment will follow at Orange Hill Cemetery, 4900 E Chelsea St, Tampa, Florida. Alton L. Goggins, Jr. was born on January 7, 1979 in Tampa, Florida to the parentage of Sharon Goggins and Alton L. Goggins, Sr. He attended the public schools of Hillsborough County and graduated from Armwood High School. Alton was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Goggins; grandmother, Evelyn Goggins; uncle, Lorenzo Ferguson; cousins, Katrina and Quintin. A home going celebration for Mr. Nelson A. Walkine will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 12 noon at Revealing Truth Ministries, 5201 N Armenia Ave, Tampa, Florida with Pastor Bryan Powe, Officiating. There will be a viewing one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Hillsboro Memorial Gardens, 2323 W. Brandon Blvd, Brandon, Florida. Nelson Walkine was born September l, 1931, to the parentage of Bruce and Cassandra (McKinney) Walkine, on the sleepy little island of Long Cay, Fortune Island, Bahamas. Nelson was educated in the local government schools and shortly after graduating, came to the United States. He found labor work in Odessa, Florida, then worked at Pioneer, U. S. Phosphorous (now known as Mosaic), and retired after nearly 40 years at Reynolds Aluminum as a machine operator. In May 1958, Nelson married the love of his life, the former Dorothy Dorsett and remained happily married for over 65 years. To this union, two children were born: Venetia Walkine Coles and Patrick N. Walkine. Nelson was a proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved to spoil his children and grands with special treats, toys. His love for music was a legacy to his family. He played the lead guitar, piano and organ. He had a keen ear for music and he taught himself how to play instruments and to read music. He was a member of the Super Seniors and the Nursing Home Ministries at Revealing Truth Ministries. Nelson was known to be well dressed and loved to share the delicious fruit with family and friends from his magnificent mango tree. On Friday, November 24th, Nelson passed from Time to Eternity at the Melech Hospice House. His sojourn of 92 years had ended, and this fiercely devoted family man, provider and man of God entered into his well-deserved rest. He leaves to cherish his long and wonderful memories with a loving and devoted wife, Dorothy Walkine; loving children and their spouses, Venetia (Carlos) Coles, Patrick (Patricia) Walkine,and Nelson Walkine Jr. ; grandchildren, Alexander Walkine, Maiya Coles, Shauntice Walkine, Moriah Coles and Devon Clark; great-grandsons, Niko Collins, King Howard, Amir Knox, ShaiKnox, Kyrie Howard, and soon to be here, Jahir Roberts; brother, Peter Walkine; sisters, Marcella Forbes, Kaliope Rolle, and a host of nieces, nephews and sorrowing friends. Roberta Alene Dowdell, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at her home in Land 'O Lakes, FL. She and her twin sister, Alberta, were born at home in Swanick, IL on October 22, 1939, to Everett and Nora Guenther on the family farm. Roberta grew up on the farm with her twin and five other sisters. Roberta married Dale Robinson of Letart, WV in 1959. She was a homemaker who raised five children in Pinckneyville, IL and later moved to Tampa, FL in 1975. She was widowed in 1981 upon Dale's passing, and she later married Fred Dowdell. She worked in retail for many years; after retirement, she worked part time for Publix. Roberta is preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale Robinson, second husband Fred Dowdell, daughter Tammy Mealer, and son-in-law Rick Mealer. Roberta has four surviving children: Kimberly Loy and Judy Powell of Land O Lakes, FL; Kevin Robinson and wife Judy of Mauertown, VA; and Penny Huff and husband Brian of Forrest, IL. Roberta is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Danny Mealer and wife Angie of Andrews, NC; Denise Mealer and her two children, Cadence and Xander, of Andrews, NC; Alicia Loy and boyfriend Brandon Messineo of Pittsburgh, PA; Samantha Bell of Andrews, NC; Zachary Huff and Brianna Huff of Forrest IL. She is also survived by six sisters, three brothers-in-law and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Roberta enjoyed cooking, crafting, sewing, listening to country music, talking to her relatives, and solving sudoku puzzles and word games. She enjoyed her part time job at Publix grocery store, as she loved interacting with her customers. Roberta will be greatly missed by her loved ones and her dear friends. Our Beautiful beloved Mother Janet Dobson passed away on November 29, 2023. She was 85 years old and lived in St Petersburg Florida. She was predeceased by her Father Earnest Wilson, her Mother Pearl Wilson, Brothers James Wilson, Donald Wilson, Ronald Wilson and Harvey Wilson. She is also predeceased by her oldest Grandson and Daughter In Law Jane Dobson. She is survived by her loving family; Husband Thomas Dobson, Children Janalee Klovos (Gerard), Kathleen Milner (Garry), Kenneth Frerichs and Veronica Matteson (Kenny), Theresa Dobson, Tracy Dobson, Todd Dobson and Sister Joann Carlton. Janet is also survived by her 12 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren. Janet was born on July 19,1938 in Battle Creek Michigan and then moved to Lansing Michigan. She moved to Tampa Florida when she was 12. She went to Hillsborough High School. Janet was a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). She was always the glue when it came to her family and friends. The light of Jesus shined bright through Janet as she loved our Lord. Her Family appreciates all the love and support they have received during this sad time from friends, family and the Staff at Seasons Hospice. Janet's celebration of life will be on December 7th (Thursday) at 11:00 am at Interbay Moose Lodge, 3008 Gandy Blvd. , Tampa, FL 33611. There will be a viewing one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Avenue, Tampa, Florida. Julius was born in Clewiston FL and later became a resident of Tampa FL. He attended the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Blake High School. Julius was employed with International Longshoreman for a short period of time. During his early years Julius was well known around town as the barking or funky chicken DJ. Julius enjoyed people and being the center of attention. He would dance, sing, and play the harmonica to entertain others. Julius enjoyed challenging people in a game of pool or playing basketball. He was also known as Dr. Barber, who would sometimes give kids free haircuts. Julius was preceded in death by his parents, Julius Little, Sr. and Dorothy Rogers Little; son, Germaine Jackson; granddaughter, Tyekia Russell and brother, Allen Little. Juanita Holbrook Ingram, 89, of Tampa, Florida passed away on December 1st, 2023. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Larry Ingram, Sr. , and daughter Deborah Lynn Ingram. She is survived by her 3 children, 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Son Robert Ingram Jr and wife Linda Faye, Daughter Linda Ingram and Daughter Julie Ingram Quinn and husband Richard. Grandson Jonathan Ingram and wife Tayshia, Granddaughter Elisabeth Ingram, Grandson Lucas Quinn and wife Jesenia. Great grandchildren Micah Jackson, Brooklyn Ingram and Matthew Ingram. Juanita was born April 15th 1934 in Boyd County Kentucky to Mable and Proctor Holbrook. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert (Larry) in 1953. They traveled the world together serving our country in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1976. Retiring to Tampa, Florida in 1976. Juanita became a dental assistant after she raised her surviving three children. Always up for a challenge, she went to work at the University of South Florida in the Media Relations department. After retiring again in 1995, Juanita and Larry loaded up their motorhome and traveled the United States. As they traveled in the western United States, they researched and edited Juanita's four Historical Western Fiction books. "Just One Bullet Left, Finding Dakota, Blue Mountain and Puckerbrush Cannon. " After the loss of her love in 2017, Juanita lived a quiet life in Tampa. Visitation will be held on December 8, 2023 at Brewer and Sons Funeral Home 3328 S. Dale Mabry Hwy. Tampa, Fl. 33629 beginning at 1:00 pm and funeral is at 2:00 pm. A private ceremony will be held at Florida National Cemetery at a later date.Show more
