Dora Ann Lester, 54, of North Spring, WV departed this life Wednesday October 4, 2023 from CAMC Memorial Hospital Born March 31, 1969, she was the youngest daughter of the late Roscoe and Liddie Ruth Lester In addition to her parents, Dora Ann is also preceded in death by her daughters: Kristen Riffe and Danyel Lester; two sisters: Darlene Bryant and Kathy Lester; brother: Russell Lester; brother-in-law: Randy Wykle; and two nephews: "Lil" Randy Wykle and Russel Lester Jr Dora loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with her closest friends and family Those left to love and cherish her memory are her son: Sammie Webb of Huntington; four grand kids also of Huntington; three sisters: Charlotte Wykle of North Spring, Vicie (Junior) Kolffe of Ragland; and Lesa (David) Hatfield of Oceana; four brothers: Roscoe (Susie) Lester of Hanover, Ezra Lester of Pigeon Creek, Abby Lester of Williamson, and Denny Ray Lester of Charleston; along with a host of extended family and friends Friends may gather with the family beginning at 6 PM Sunday October 8, 2023 at the Little Cub Memorial Baptist Church at North Spring Visitation will continue through Monday evening, October 9, 2023 at the church, with funeral services commencing Tuesday October 10, 2023 at 2PM with Pastor Russell Prince and Rev David Hatfield officiating Burial will follow the funeral service at the North Spring Community Cemetery Dora Ann will be carried to her resting place by her family and friends She may be gone from out sight but never from our hearts

Jimmy Bragg, 71 of Gilbert, WV gained his heavenly wings on Friday, November 24, 2023 at his residence after a long illness. Born November 26, 1951 he was the son of the late Lee Bragg and Virginia (Vincent) Bragg. He was a retired coal miner for Pittston Coal (Rum Creek Plant) and a member of the Browning Fork House of Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Teresa Bragg; a sister, Patricia Bragg; Paternal Grandparents: Homer and Lula Bragg. Maternal Grandparents: Fonzo and Virgie Vincient. Mother-in-law: Betty Holcomb. Uncles: Ray Bragg, Kenneth Bragg, Buster Bragg, Junior Vincent, and Bob Vincent and Aunts: Margie (Vincent McNeely) and Mollie (Vincent) Trent. Jimmy was a loving husband, father, papaw, father-in-law, coach, camera man, and friend to all that knew him. One of his many loves was Gilbert sports. Among many things, he was head coach in the old Gilbert Little League, coaching football, basketball, and baseball; Assistant coach, with his son Jimmy Lee, at Gilbert Middle School; and was the assistant to his longtime friend, Coach Arnold Mollette, for the baseball team at Gilbert High School. The family would like to give a heartfelt 'thank you' to Gilbert Pride Little League, Gilbert Middle School, Gilbert High School, and Mingo Central High School for allowing him to be a part of the teams and to film games for each of you over the years. Those left to love and cherish his memory are his loving wife: Donna Bragg of Gilbert, WV. Sons: Jimmy Lee Bragg (wife Amanda) of Hampden, WV, Ryan Bragg (wife Katherine) of Talbott, TN. Stepson: Ronald Collins (Allison Collins) of Bruno, WV. Grandchildren: Jordan Bragg and Preston Dingess of Hampden, WV, Magnolia, and Audrianna Bragg of Talbott, TN, and Dylan Collins of Logan, WV. Also, the many families, friends, co-workers, and the players whom he coached and loved dearly. The family would like to thank and show appreciation to his caretakers; Tina West Hatfield and Nadean Davis and to Hospice Home Care. Delmer Blankenship, 91 of Baisden, WV left this world for his Heavenly Home, from his residence on Sunday, October 22, 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 9, 1932, he was the son of the late Troy Sr. and Rosa (Hatfield) Blankenship. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his son, Delmer Eugene (Debbie) Blankenship, multiple brothers and sisters, his son-in-law, Mark Fischer, and the love of his life, his wife of almost 61 years, Shirley Ann Blankenship. Delmer gave his life to Christ on May 25, 1997. He was a member of the Church of Christ located in Gilbert, WV. He was a retired coal miner. Delmer loved working in the coal mines. He was known to be one of the hardest working coal miners at Buffalo Mining Company located in Logan, WV. He dedicated 40 years to his profession and was a loyal member of the UMWA District 17 Chapter. Delmer loved his family more than anything. He provided for them throughout his life. He enjoyed working in his garden, watching his favorite baseball team: The Cincinnati Reds, pickling corn, and staying outdoors; especially deer hunting. Delmer's legacy of hard work, dedication, love, and kindness will live on in those who love and adored him: his sons: Rodney Joe Blankenship (Kim) of Wharncliffe, WV and Darrick Shane Blankenship (Rebecca) of Louisville, TN; one daughter Pamela Hope Fischer of Mineral, VA; one very special sister Nina Cline of Baisden, WV. Six wonderful grandchildren, whom he loved with all his heart: Erica Blankenship and Alex Blankenship of Gilbert, WV, Ashton Hope Walls (Jon) of Wharncliffe, WV, Mackenzie Leigh Roper (Jay) of Gum Spring, VA, Troy Joseph Fischer of Mineral, VA and Briley Hope Blankenship of Louisville, TN; two precious great grandchildren: Jenson Wade Walls of Wharncliffe, WV and Lawrence Mac-Lee Roper of Gum Spring, VA. Delmer leaves behind a host of beloved nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear neighbors/family. Friends and Family may gather with the family Friday, October 27, 2023 from 12:00pm - 2:00pm at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel. A Celebration of Life service will take place afterwards with Pastor Barry Cline, his great nephew, officiating. Burial will follow at Hatfield Cemetery at Sharon Heights, WV. Delmer will be carried to his final resting place by: Darrick Blankenship, Pamela Fischer, Troy Fischer, Doug Blankenship, Jon Walls, and his best friend, Freddie McNeely. Carlos Lee Mounts, 79 of Baisden, WV went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from his residence. Born September 12, 1944 at Baisden, He was the son of the late Oscar and Opal (Poffenburger) Mounts. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brothers: Roger Lee and Roy Tony Mounts; sister: Brenda Kay Mounts; nephews: Oscar Levoid and Roger Dale Powers. Carlos was a retired Surface Miner. He was affiliated with the Ben Creek Free Pentecostal Holiness Church. He loved his Antique Cars and taking them to car shows, watching NFL Football games, watching, and going to Nascar races, putting model cars together, going to flea markets; and especially, his cats. Carlos was also a US Army Veteran. He served 2 years in Vietnam. He served in the Army, Army National Guard, Army Reserve, Air National Guard, and Air Force Reserve. He was awarded with the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Marksman Badge, Expert Badge, 1 Oversea Bar, Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon, and Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Ribbon.
