Gregory Louis Davison, affectionately known as "Gregg", was the eldest of three children born in Chicago, Illinois on August 15, 1949, to the late Otis and Carrie L. Davison. Gregg was a strong-willed boy that grew into a determined man with a passion for obtaining and enjoying financial abundance. Displaying a fiery intelligence and enterprising spirit from an early age, Gregory began his first job at 12 years old as a paperboy working his way up to regional manager. Passing tough admissions testing, Gregg was admitted into Lindblom Math & Science High School graduating in 1968. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts from Hiram College in 1972. His thirst for knowledge continued over the years earing a Master of Science in Information Technology & Project Management from DePaul University in 2004 along with acquiring numerous other Associate Degrees (Real Estate & Business Administration) and Building & inspections certifications spanning almost three decades from 1972 until 2002. He simultaneously owned rental properties and a Realtor Brokerage Company while sustaining an Information Technology career at Allstate Insurance Company for 32 years, retiring in 2006. A dedicated and loving son, Gregory's greatest joy in life was escorting his mother to church in addition to being a successful businessman in his beloved hometown. He frequently attended Trinity United Church of Christ located in Chicago, Illinois sharing his love of God passed on to him from his devoted mother. An outgoing personality, Gregg made many friends throughout his lifetime. It was during his time at Allstate that Gregory met Rochelle in 1984 while partnering on Information Technology projects for the well-known insurance company. Their meeting of the minds continued beyond work hours as they began working in unison on his rental properties. This initial friendship grew into a close partnership finally culminating in holy matrimony between the two. Quietly and peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 26, 2023, Almighty God, in his infinite wisdom, gently closed the eyes of our beloved Gregg. His wife Rochelle was by his side providing love, comfort & Support during his transition. Gregory's younger brother Giovanni's journey to heaven preceded his passing. He leaves a sister Gwendolyn Rutledge and abundance of family and friends that will mourn his passing. "I'm Free" Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free I'm following the path God laid for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call I turned my back and left it all I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work or play Tasks left undone must stay that way I found that peace at the close of the day If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joy A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss Ah, yes, these things I too will miss Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish for you the sunshine of tomorrow My life has been full, I've savored much Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch Perhaps my time seemed all too brief Don't lengthen it now with undue grief Lift up your heart and share with me God wanted me now, He set me free!
