Donna Heath, 58, of Fostoria, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay. She was born on May 2, 1965 in Fostoria to Samuel and Ruth (Thomas) Heath. Surviving are five siblings, Sandra (John) Stark, Tina Heath, Samuel Heath, Amy Bishop and James (Alyssa) Heath all of Fostoria; nine nieces and six nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Heath. Donna retired from Seneca Re-Ads after 38 years of service. She enjoyed playing bingo, coloring, dancing and listening to music. Memorial contributions are suggested to the School of Opportunity in care of the funeral home. There will be no services at this time. Arrangements are being handled by Hoening & Son Funeral Home, 133 W. Tiffin St. , Fostoria, Ohio 44830.

Eric S. McClain, age 61, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on December 1, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on May 1, 1962, in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, to Herb and Kaye McClain. Eric was an ardent sports fan and shared his passion with his son, Zach. They enthusiastically cheered on the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates, the University of Toledo Rockets, and the Central Catholic Fighting Irish. Eric was also a dedicated golfer and a member of the "Thursday Night League" for over 30 years, as well as the August Pull Tabbers group. He had a kind and outgoing personality, always greeting others with a warm smile, a hearty laugh, and a genuine interest in their stories. Eric cherished his friendships, both from his Pittsburgh roots and those he made in Toledo, especially the group fondly referred to as "Eric's Friends. " In addition to his parents, Eric is survived by his loving wife, Lynnette, whom he married on October 22, 1988, and their son, Zach, both of Toledo, Ohio. He is also survived by his brothers, Mark (Joni) of Charleroi, PA, and Curt (Carma) of Perryopolis, PA, his sister Karen of York, PA, his niece Jessica (Walter) Harman and their children, Allison and Isaac, of Lebanon, PA. Eric was always considered another brother by his in-laws David and Mary Ellen Recker, Sandy Stahan, Gina Bunker, Dennis and Shelley Jacobs, and Fred Russell. He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Eric attended Belle Vernon Area High School, graduating in the Class of 1980, and went on to complete his higher education at Slippery Rock University in 1984. Eric moved to Toledo, Ohio in 1986. In 1993 he began his career in direct sales with Superior Uniform Sales, Inc. This is when his legendary and distinguished 30-year career with Public Safety officers began. Originally hired as Store Manager, he later moved into outside sales and was promoted to Director of Sales for Public Safety Uniforms. Eric knew every Police Officer, Deputy Sheriff, and Firefighter in Northwestern Ohio and Southeastern Michigan by first name. Whenever our Public Safety officers spoke about their uniforms, they always included comments about their experience with "Eric at Superior. " Eric took pride in outfitting every officer from head to toe, beginning with their first days as new recruits. He provided the utmost in personal service. These individual fittings paved the way for lasting friendships with Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters, and countless other people within Superior's family of customers. Manufacturer representatives, too, always sought out Eric on their visits to Superior and formed the same bond with him. Eric had a sign above his desk that read: "If you love what you do, you'll never work another day in your life!" Lynn and Zach wish to express their gratitude to their families and friends for the loving support they have received and are also especially thankful to the staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their dedication and care for Eric. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Friday, December 8th from 2-8 p. m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 East Alexis Road, Toledo, Ohio 43612 with a vigil service at 7 p. m. Services will begin Saturday, December 9th at 10 a. m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in Regina Coeli Church at 10:30 a. m. with Fr. Jim Morman presiding. Eleanor A. Harris, affectionately known as "Nanee" was born on July 28, 1936 to Marie and Willie Clyde Shy SR. in Toledo, Ohio. Eleanor was married to Edward Sanders and from that union two children were born, Elliott and Starlet. Eleanor was remarried to Johhnie Harris and through their union, she was blessed with an extended family of 15 children. She confessed in Christ at an early age. She began playing the piano at the age of 5, and at the age of ten she began playing the piano at Third Baptist Church. Eleanor was a long time member of Third Baptist Church under the Pastorship of Rev. Dr. Langston Bannister and other Pastors. She used her musical abilities as an organist for the Sunshine Band. She participated in several auxiliaries throughout the church and lended her talents where they benefited the church. She also shared her musical talents with St. Paul A. M. E Baptist Church under the Pastorship of Reverend Maze. Eleanor attended Gunkel Elementary School, Robinson Jr High School and was a 1957 graduate of Jessup W. Scott High School. She worked at E. O. P. A. Head Start for 40 years as an assistant teacher. Eleanor truly enjoyed working with the pre-school children. During her time at Head Start; she obtained her Child Development Associate degree (CDA). While Eleanor worked at Head Start, she also worked at Continental Security as a part-time Security Officer. Eleanor (Nanee) was a loving,caring and supportive wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was always there when we needed her. She was our biggest cheerleader and she always encouraged us to be the best that we could be. Eleanor had a beautiful and humble spirit and she loved the Lord. She showed the Love of Christ through her actions. She loved to laugh and would infect others with her laughter. With enjoyment, she would always put others before herself. She would give her last with a smile, and knowing with confidence that the Lord will provide. Eleanor was loved by family, friends and her community. She was preceded in death by parents, Willie and Marie Shy, brothers: Willie, Edward and Murray Shy, Granddaughters: Tanisha Sanders Brown, Taniel Sanders, and Grandson: Jason Sanders. Charles Avery "Chuck" Wells Jr. , age 69, of Toledo's Point Place Community, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. He was born September 20, 1954 in Toledo, OH to Charles Avery (Delores Dyer) Wells Sr. A graduate of Macomber High School, Chuck was employed as an auto body repairman at Jeff's Collision on Telegraph Rd. for 15 years, and Quality Collision on Sylvania Ave. He enjoyed auto racing and motorcycle riding and was a big fan of Nascar. He also enjoyed camping and watching classic Westerns. A loving family man, he looked forward to Sunday facetime calls with his daughters and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Chuck is survived by his "Buddy", Iris Porter; children, Charles "Chucky" Wells III, William (Jen) Appleman, Brandy (Rob) Durdel, and Kelly (Chris) Hepner; grandchildren, Taylor (Joe) Teet, Keegan Durdel, Kaylea (Derek) Berfield, Austin Wells, Alexis (David) Box, and Annalee (Connor) Appleman; and great-grandchildren, Robert Berfield and Brooks Box. Also surviving are his siblings, Wendy (Ken) Pluff, Kenneth (Jenny) Wells, Jeff (Rose) Wells, and Tim Wells; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Randy and Mike Wells. Born August 17, 1934, to John and Evoys (Wordlaw) Washington, Sr. in Earle, Arkansas. When John was 10 years old his family moved to Toledo, Ohio joining his grandfather, Will Washington and uncle, Cornelius Washington in Toledo during the industrial migration of blacks from the south. John attended Oakdale Elementary school and Waite High School where he met the love of his life Phyllis Mitchell. He ran track for Waite HS and still holds the record in the pole vault. He was also a golden glove boxer. John and Phyllis had 6 children from their union and John had 2 additional sons. John and Phyllis were married on June 8, 1952. John's first job was at Damschroder Department Store and Unit Cast Steele Manufacturer. He left Unit Cast and went to work for General Motors Hydramatic Plant where he worked and rose in the ranks of the union as a Union Representative and supported causes to benefit all employees. John retired after 30+ years of service. He enjoyed watching his westerns, WWll, and Star Trek movies and enjoyed hanging out with his friends and family. If you knew John, you know most of his friends called him "Biggie" and if you knew him you knew you had a friend. Biggie was laid back, easy going and cool as can be. He was always well dressed and put together, he was aware of the current trends and political topics taking place at any given time and was up on the latest political issues. John is preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Evoys; brother, James Washington; sister, Delores Washington and son, Johnny. John is survived by his wife of 71 years, Phyllis; 5 of their children, Kennie, Rick, Renee, Angela Williams (Rodney), and Brian (Carol), and his 2 other sons, Bruce Sims (Paula) and Jeff Hunt (Monica); sister, Myrtle Doakes (Lloyd); brother, Charles Washington (Tami); sister-in-law, Barbara (McFarland) Lytle; special nephews, Corey Williams (Diane) and Reggie McFarland; special niece, Bernetta Boyd (Leslie); 23 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, and a host of relatives and friends.Show more

Shoni Pili Jamilia Wright was born on September 23, 1973, to Charles R. Martin and Jean M. Wright in Toledo Ohio. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles R. Martin; brother, Anthony McClendon; grandparents, Virginia and Willie Wright and Walter and Cordelia Martin Sr. , and Buford and Mary McClendon Sr. Shoni was baptized and accepted Christ at a very early age. She graduated in 1991 from Woodward High School where she was an all-city track star for 3 consecutive years. She worked at Northwest Ohio Developmental Center as a therapeutic program worker for many years. Shoni enjoyed shining her light and bringing joy to her client's lives. Shoni worked for an all-black women law firm when she lived in California as a secretary for 4 years, which gave her so much pride. Shoni had the privilege to do stand-up comedy while living in California and had the opportunity to open for LL Cool J and Debbie Allen. Shoni even had the honor of meeting Barry White. From Shoni and Christopher Ross-El's union came her greatest accomplishments, her children Taylor, Tia, and Ty. Shoni had a love for music and a beautiful voice. She was known as a standup comedian, who slayed make-up. Shoni was the life of the party meeting no strangers. She had a strong love for her family and grandchildren. She had an infectious smile and an unforgettable personality. She loved to cook and was known for her dirty rice and famous hot tamales, and she would eat you out of a house and home. We can't forget her one armed robot dance and pop locking. Shoni would want everyone to laugh and spread love with no tears because she was the epitome of fun and joy. The heavenly gates opened on November 11, 2023, and received our beloved angel. Shoni leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Taylor Ross, Tia Ross, and Ty Ross; grandchildren, Kaloni Brandon and Ralphael Brandon; mother, Jean M. Michael Dwayne Sanders Sr. also known as Maddog 55, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully on November 25, 2023, surrounded by family. Michael was born on Saturday October 5, 1968 to Elaine Sanders. Michael grew up in Toledo, but has been all over the country. He attended Fulton Elementary and Scott High School. Michael worked as a butcher for many years and enjoyed fishing, rapping, watching western movies, spending time with friends and family and going to the gun range. Michael MADDOG Sanders will be dearly missed and always remembered. Michael was preceded in death by many such as, his grand-mother Virginia Mack, his uncle Bill, his aunt Juanita and his nephew Christopher Sanders. Michael is survived by his mother Elaine Sanders, his sisters Angelique (Bear) Gregory ,Calinda (Binky) Sanders, his brothers Ronald (Ronnay) Sanders and Kendrick King Sr. Michael also is survived by his wife Charmaine Sanders, and his children Darius (D-Glove) Glover, Marlesia (Punkin) Smith, Michael (Nooners) Sanders Jr. Shawnessy (Goat) Sanders and Mikell (Neck bone) Smith among many more who he was a father figure to. Also going to miss their PAWPAW is, LaLaya & Nevaeh Glover, Braylin Austin, London Cartlidge, DeVante Walker, Kel'Mya & Ke'Shawn Bernard. Michael requested a balloon release as his celebration of life as opposed to traditional funeral services. This will be held at one of his favorite fishing spots behind San Marcos honor.
