Donna Gayle, known to many as Ms. Donna or aunt Donna, went to her new home in heaven on June 8, 2022. Donna married Mark Davis on June 26, 2004. Although they never had any children together, Donna was "mother" to hundreds of children through her 20+ years of service teaching mostly first grade children in the Pasadena Independent School District. She retired from the school district in 2011. She is preceded in death by her father, Donald (Bill) Hogan, Sr. and her husband Mark Davis. She is survived by her mother, Glenda Gayle Hogan Chandler, brother James (Jim) Henry and wife Laurie Ann, sister Judy Henry Smith, and brother Donald (Donny) Hogan, Jr. and wife Sandra. Her pride and joy were her nieces and nephews, Cindy, Kristie (husband Mark), Jamie (husband Tony), Bryce (wife Jordan) Houston, Chandler, Lane, Cooper, Levi, Landry, Austin Parker, Aiden, Mia, Avery Grace, and Avery Grace. Yes, we have two of them in our family. Loved and included as family are Bruce (wife Bonnie) Chandler, Kathy (husband David) Harris, Nikaley Chandler, Eric (wife Leah) Chandler, Daniel (wife Megan) Harris, Ben Harris, David, James and Luke Chandler and Rhys Harris. Additionally, Mark Davis' children and grandchildren, Savannah, Samantha (husband Amos), Patrick, Alice, Jameson and Amelia. Donna was born in Pasadena, Texas on December 1, 1963. She attended Atkinson Elementary, Beverly Hills Intermediate and J. Frank Dobie High schools. She was a graduate of the University of Houston, Clear Lake and resided in the Southbelt area for most of her life. Donna accepted Jesus as her savior at an early age and served Him "with gladness" every day. Whether it was serving in the church nursery, Vacation Bible School, her Bible study classes or some other church ministry, she answered the call with all her heart. She played the piano and loved the "old hymns". She was a member of Sagemont Church and loved attending her Integrity iConnect class. However, Donna's true passion was helping people and she found that in the Helping Hands ministry, where she received so many blessings. Donna was thrilled when her nephew, Austin Parker, joined her in this ministry. Whether you are a cousin, a colleague, or a friend, we all have our fond memories of Donna Gayle. She lived her life to fullest. See you after while! A memorial service is planned for July 16, 2022, at 10:00 a. m. at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Rd. Houston, TX. 77089.
