"Psalms 73 "My flesh and my heart fail but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever" Geneva Holly Garrison, 90, a longtime resident of Elizabethton passed away in Bethlehem, Georgia on Tuesday November 28th, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born to the late Charles and Dora Fletcher Holly. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Jack R. Garrison; and a son, Rick J Garrison. Geneva was a member of Valley Forge Christian Church. She had retired from Peebles where she worked for many years and made many great friends. Geneva loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son in law, Melissa Starr Nelson and Blake Nelson; grandsons, Eric Garrison (Lisa), Zachary Garrison (Jody), and Kevin Nelson (Amanda); great grandchildren, Taylor Dean, Zane Garrison, Miley Garrison and Baby Nelson expected in May; two sisters, Carolyn Minton (Steve) and Sherry Hamm (Roger); a brother in law, Jerry Garrison; and a sister in law, Brenda Stout. Several nieces, nephews and other family members also survive who will miss her as well. A special thank you to Bristol Hospice of Watkinsville, Georgia nurses and staff for their love, support and care during her illness as well as all her caregivers at Gateway Gardens Assisted Living and Memory Care in Bethlehem, Georgia. The committal and entombment service to honor Geneva's life will be conducted on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Dr. Jonathan Minton, officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 AM on Sunday. Jacob was passionate about living life to the fullest and stopping along the way to help anyone in need. He had an exceptional ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. Jacob was a loving father, brother, son and friend. He was excellent at his craft of being a diesel technician. Jacob had an infectious smile and could find humor in any situation. He will be greatly missed by those that loved him most. Robert "Bobby" Gilbert, age 68, of Bethlehem, GA passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023. Bobby was born in Fulton County to the late David Edgar "Bud" Gilbert and Patricia Buchanan Gilbert. He was a graduate of Norcross High School. He loved UGA Football and WWE professional wrestling. More than anything, he loved his family. In addition to his parents, Bobby was predeceased by his wife of 22 years, Mary Lynn Seabolt Gilbert. He was also predeceased by his brother, David Gilbert; sisters: Patricia Coleman and Virginia Gilbert; and three great-grandchildren including Emberlee Humphries. Bobby is survived by his daughters: Christy (Gregory) Garvin of Maysville, Dawn Triplett of Commerce, and Heather (Adam) Helton of Bethlehem; brother, Michael (Rhonda) Gilbert of Jefferson; sister, Donna Muse of Cumming; fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 755 Atlanta Hwy SE, Winder on Thursday, November 30 from 6pm until 9pm. Donald Russell Austin, age 81, of Bethlehem, Georgia passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023. Donald was born October 12, 1942 to parents R. P. and Kathleen Austin. He was a lifelong Georgia resident and a member of the American Legion for over 40 years. Donald was a focused, strong willed man, who was generous to a fault. He loved old country music, animals and the outdoors. In his younger years he was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in passing by brother, Robert Austin; and his sister-in-law, Sarah Austin. Donald is survived by his sister, Ona McGahee; nephews, Wayne (Sherryl) Austin and Keith (Elizabeth) Austin; great nephews, Caleb (Stoshia) Austin and Colton (Grace Hedges) Austin; great nieces, Desiree (Nelson) Martinez and Bethany Austin; two great great nephews; and three great great nieces.
