Donald Richard Turner 87, of Baker, Florida passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 11, 2023. Don was born on December 8, 1935, in Elgin, Arkansas to James and Lucille Turner. He moved to Okaloosa County in 1983 from White Hall, Arkansas and has been a resident ever since. Don had a full career in the United States Air Force and retired as a Flight Engineer. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Don is preceded in death by his wife, Thomasina Turner, his parents, James and Lucille Turner and his sister, Jenny Dyer. Don is survived by his son, Donald Turner (Linda), his daughters, Katrina Allen, Donna Ball and Elizabeth Allen, his brother, Bud Turner, his sisters, Ann Walton (James Dean), Phyllis Butler (Gary), and Kay Gourley, seven grandchildren (Brooke Turner and Brandon Kenward) and eleven great grandchildren. A funeral will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, beginning at 11:00 a. m. at Antioch Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Retzlaff officiating. Ronnie William Sullivan 77, of Baker, Florida passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. Ronnie was born on October 28, 1946 in Mobile, Alabama to William and Melba Sullivan. Ronnie joined the United States Air Force in June of 1966 and was a proud Vietnam Veteran to then serve thirty four years in logistics for the civil service. Ronnie also was the owner of Truss Me Manufacturing for thirteen years. Ronnie was a member of the Playground and Sunset Corvette and and enjoyed traveling seeing seven states in ten years. He loved to eat his wife's cooking, watch Alabama Football "Roll Tide" and watch NHRA Nascar Racing. Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Melba Sullivan. Ronnie is survived by his wife of 40 years, Angela, he is also survived by his sister, Jan Jole and husband Rob, Nieces, Kristi Litrell and husband Steve, Gwen Kurzen and husband Bob, Katie Wyatt and husband Travis, his great nephews, Devin Whitsett, Trevor Wyatt and Charity Fulfur and Reed Kurzen, his great nieces, Danielle Whitsett and Josh Chapman, Karly Wyatt and Kayman Kurzen and his great great nephews, Jacz Wyatt Ario and Kyland Chapman. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 beginning at 2:00 p. m. from the Chapel of Brackney Funeral Service with Pastor Nathan Forte officiating. Jackson Lee Gray Jr. , 80 years old, a resident of Baker, Florida for 11 years passed away from this world to join his Lord and Savior on November 19, 2023 @ 4:00 pm CST. Born December 14, 1942 in Montgomery, Alabama to Jack Gray, Sr. and Margaret Gray. Jack attended Robert E. Lee High School and played football. After graduation Jack joined the Navy and served our country. Jack retired from the City of Montgomery Fire Department after 25 years of service. Jack worked at Maxwell A. F. B. Maintenance Department, then got on with the State of Alabama. Jack worked with the Alabama Board of Corrections (Maintenance Department) for another 20 years and retired in 2003. Jack was a loving husband to Sandra Butler Gray for 57 years and a loving father to Misty Gray. Jack is survived by his wife Sandra B. Gray; daughter Misty M. Gray; two loving grandchildren, Peter Lee Salvucci and Annamarie Kay Salvucci; a wonderful niece Lisa M. West, brother-in-law Joe Sim Butler (Sue); nephew Thomas Sim Butler (Kathy), numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, swimming, working in the backyard and especially traveling seeing the natural beautiful sites God created. He was always looking at his map planning trips! Jack will be deeply missed by those who knew him well. Cherished memories will be forever remain etched in the hearts of his loved ones. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p. m. in Friday, December 8, 2023 at White Chapel - Greenwood Funeral Home. Janet was born on January 27, 1954 in Crestview, Florida to Arthur and Minnie Stuckey and has been a lifelong resident ever since. Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Lee and Minnie Leo Stuckey, her brother, Durwood Stuckey, her sisters, Dorothy Prescott and DeLane Harlson and her great grandchildren, Kylan McVay and Aurora McVay. Janet is survived by her husband of fifty one years, Cecil R. Garrett, her son Cecil T. (Beau) and his wife Crystal, her daughter, Chelsi N. Thomas Wayne Ross 72, of Baker, Florida passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023. Tom was born on June 7, 1951, in Charleston, West Virginia to Robert and Vina Ross. He was raised in Charleston, West Virginia where he graduated from Dupont High School in 1969. Tom had a lengthy career in the Automotive Industry as a business owner Let's Roll Delivery LLC as a parts distributor. Thomas moved to Okaloosa County in 2017 from Charleston, West Virginia and has been a resident ever since. He was a member of NRA and anything to do with cars. Tom loved to sing karaoke and was really good at it, he also loved watching the Steelers play football, fighting matches on T. V. , deep sea fishing, snorkeling, hiking and doing random projects. Tom was a very humorous guy who had a kind heart, all who known him loved and appreciated him. He will be dearly missed by everyone. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Samuel Ross and Vina Westene Stone Ross, his daughter, Misty Dawn Ross Ramella, his brothers, Daniel Alan Ross of Charleston, West Virginia and Richard Blaine Ross of Crestview, Florida and Robert Darrell Ross of Summersville, West Virginia. Tom is survived by his sister-in-law, Sandra Ross of Summersville, West Virginia, his sister, Kelly Ross Fryman (Gary) of Crestview, Florida, three grandchildren, Alicia Nicole Ramella of Sissonville, West Virginia, Thomas Scott Cole of Point Pleasant, West Virginia and Elijah James Brandon Cole of Beckley, West Virginia, Two great grandchildren, Waylon Ramella and Brooklyn Caynor of Sissonville, West Viriginia and a host of special nieces and nephews, Tom was a great uncle who they loved dearly. Lonnie Bell Peaden passed peacefully into heaven to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Chirst from her home in Baker, Florida in the early morning hours on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 after a brief battle with cancer. Lonnie Bell was born in Holt, Florida on November 8, 1923 to parents John Quincy Davis and Idell Johnson Davis. She married her first love, James Jackson Peaden, in 1941 and enjoyed 50 years of marriage in which she was a loving wife until James passed in 1991. James and Lonnie Bell were blessed with two daughters, Sonja and Mary during their marriage. Also blessed later in life by finding love a second time, she married Emory Elmer Messick in 1994 and celebrated 25 years of marriage with Elmer until his passing in 2018. She is survived by sister Carolyn Davis Stanley, daughters Sonja and Mary, and son-in-law Wayne Maloy, grandchildren Vanessa and husband Chris Menhennett, Matt Brunson and wife, Polly, John Silva and wife, Amanda, Chastity and husband Chad Adams, 10 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Quincy Davis and Idell Johnson Davis; husband James Jackson Peaden and husband Emory Elmer Messick; brothers Clewis Davis, Dick Davis, John Davis and sister, Mary Virginia Davis Aderhold. Living an amazing life of ninety-nine and a half years, Lonnie Bell encountered many adventures and touched the lives of people wherever she went. Lonnie Bell earned a high school diploma after attending Escambia Farms School, where she went on to substitute teach at Escambia Farms School for a short time. Her career experiences included working at Monsanto for 13 years, then she transitioned into her true calling as a hairstylist for 26 years. Working as a hairstylist allowed Lonnie Bell to develop personal relationships with each client, which in turn enabled her to enhance the inner beauty of each person through providing services of shampooing, cutting, coloring, perming, and styling hair. This process and time created many wonderful friendships. Although Lonnie Bell's hairstylist career began in Lonnie's Beauty Shop located behind her home in Blackmon, Florida, it also included time spent as a cosmetology instructor for the Pensacola Beauty School in Pensacola, Florida, and 21 years at the Crestview Nursing and Convalescent Home on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Lonnie Bell often referred to her time at the nursing home as "the most rewarding work I've ever done in my entire life. " Her true daily endeavor was to bring happiness to others. In addition to hairstyling, Lonnie Bell also brought happiness to others through her cooking and baking. Many throughout the community received baked goodies and a smile "just because you were on my mind" and enjoyed her Sunday Dinners for family and friends. Lonnie Bell had a gift for making friends and family feel special and loved. Although a life-long resident in Okaloosa County, Florida where Lonnie Bell left her childhood home in Holt, Florida, then moved to reside on James Peaden Road in Blackmon, Florida, and on to her final residence on Messick Road in Baker, Florida, she loved to travel and explore. Travels included destinations all over the United States as well as international trips to Canada and a trip to Israel, Jordan, and Egypt. As a member of Goodhope Baptist Church in Escambia Farms since 1941, the greatest passion in Lonnie Bell's life was her relationship with Jesus Christ. She loved to serve the Lord, fellowship with others, and worship through music and song. Everyone is invited to celebrate her life at Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview, Florida.
