Obituary of Donald Sayers Donald Sayers, 94, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on January 31, 2019. Born on Myrtle Ave in Cuyahoga Falls on December 2, 1924, Don was a lifetime Falls resident and a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School. He retired after 42 years of service from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., where he worked as a machine shop foreman. Don was a dedicated baseball coach and was an inductee in the Cuyahoga Falls Amateur Baseball Association. He was also an avid fisherman & Euchre player. Don was a huge Disney fan, and as a member of the Disney Vacation Club, would visit Disney World 2-3 times a year. Don was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Catherine Sayers, as well as his wife Neva in 2012; son Ronald in 1964; brother Russell and sisters Eileen & Eleanor. He is survived by his daughters Linda (David) Bailey, Barbara (Roger) Lanier, & Janet (Ron) Thomas; Misty (Jim) Smith, Heather (Jimmy) Rios, Erin (Martin) Poteralski, Jenna Bailey, & Robert Weston; great-grandchildren Isaiah (Melissa) Rios, Josiah (Grace) Rios, Elijah Rios, Noah Rios, Micaiah Rios, Kaylie Weston, Aven Smith, and Emerson & Gillian Poteralski; great-great-granddaughter Liliana Joy Rios. The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the staff of Harbor Light Hospice for all of the care given to Don and his family. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 3rd, from 2-4 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel 247 Stow Ave (at Third St., one block north of Portage Trail in) Cuyahoga Falls, where a funeral service will take place on Monday at 11:00 am.
