Donald Wayne Pierce, 78, of Salisbury passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at North Carolina State Veteran's Home. Born in Rowan County on May 4, 1944, he was the son of the late Margaret C. Morrison and Charles E. Pierce. Mr. Pierce was a Vietnam Veteran, serving as a lieutenant in the US Air Force and worked in power plant maintenance. He lived in Wilmington, NC for over 30 years, where he was a member of Global River Church. Mr. Pierce was very dedicated to spreading the word of God and his faith with others. He also enjoyed going to the beach and fishing. He loved his dog Mojo and they went everywhere together. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Pierce; sister, Mildred Pierce Tarkenton; brothers, James Pierce, Grady Pierce, and Norman Pierce. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Diane Pierce Leazer and husband Todd Leazer of Rockwell; sister, Ruth Pierce Kosa of Valley City, Ohio; grandchildren, Mark Honeycutt, Bryce Honeycutt, and Nathan Leazer; great-grandchildren, Landon Jones and Brynleigh Trexler and several nieces and nephews.
