Donald Bruce Osborn, 86, of Grant, passed away on February 14, 2019 in Grant. He was born on June 4, 1932 to Leo and Ione (Chittenden) Osborn in Grant, Michigan. He graduated from Grant High School in 1951. On June 20, 1954 he married Marilyn Mueller in Waverly, Iowa. Donald served in the US Air Force from May 14, 1952 to May 13, 1956 when he was honorably discharged as a Airman First Class. Donald worked as a switchman for Michigan Bell Telephone/AT&T until his retirement in 1987. He was formerly the head of Sea Scouts, volunteered at the church, and volunteered his services to help maintain homes of elderly and needy in Newaygo County. Donald is survived by his wife Marilyn, two daughters: Jean (Paul Bailey) Swee of Bloomington, IL, JoEllen (Steve) Hilbrand of Grant, MI; daughter-in-law Terri Osborn of Carmel, IN; three granddaughters: Tina (Scott) Russell, Kristin (Wes) Bustraan, Melissa (Bharat Kumar) Swee; two grandsons: Gabriel (Libby Quam) Swee, Nathan (Amanda) Hilbrand; 8 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Sally Osborn; sister Arlene (Larry) George; brother Richard (Martha) Osborn; several nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law: Harold Wiltshire, Bob (Joan) Wubbena. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Douglas Bruce Osborn, brother Jim Osborn, brothers-in-law: Ewald (Marcene) Mueller, Jim (Margerite) Mueller, sister-in-law Dorry Wiltshire. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 16, 2019, 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm with funeral services at 4:00pm at the Grant Community Church, with Steve VanderWerst officiating.
