With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Donald Jack Moore, lovingly known as Donald, on October 5th, 2023, at the age of 68. Born on January 21st, 1955, in Giddings, TX, Donald was a charismatic soul whose was infectious. He was a thoughtful man who put the happiness of others before his own, always ready with a comforting word or gesture. Donald was a hardworking individual who dedicated many years as a member of a railroad maintenance crew. His commitment to his work was a testament to his character - dependable, meticulous, and dedicated. Upon retirement, he found joy in the simpler things of life. He was fond of golfing and fishing in his younger years, a testament to his love for the outdoors. As he grew older, he developed a penchant for watching movies, particularly old westerns and Hogan's Heroes, which he could watch for hours on end. Donald's faith was an integral part of his life. As Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. " Donald embodied these words in his life, and his relationship with God was a shining beacon to those around him. Dorothy Mullins, born Dorothy Mae Howard on September 9, 1947, in Cabot, Arkansas, was a woman of strength, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family and her faith. In the quiet hours of the morning, Dorothy's home was filled with the rich aroma of coffee, and the soft whispers of hummingbirds fluttering outside her kitchen window. An avid lover of nature, Dorothy's heart found joy in the simplicity of life's beauty, a love she imparted to those around her. Dorothy's hands were rarely idle, finding solace in the rhythmic hum of her sewing machine, the delicate strokes of her paintbrush, or the earth beneath her fingertips in her beloved garden. A loyal employee of Tyson Hatchery before her retirement, she carried the same tenacity and commitment from her professional life into her personal passions. Thrifting adventures with her best friend, Ann Bryant, were not just about finding hidden treasures, but about creating lasting memories and cherishing the joy of friendship. The sparkle in Dorothy's eyes when surrounded by family was a testament to her deep love and devotion, a feeling reciprocated by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Margie Howard, and her sister, Sue Brown. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Gordon Mullins; their children, Thomas Wayne Mullins and wife Terri of Hattieville and Sherry Lynn Lavoie and husband David; brothers, Tom and wife Lucy Howard of Plumerville; Ronnie Howard and wife Maxine of Hattieville, Five grandchildren: Josh, Ashley, Chris, Michael, and Brittney; Five great grandchildren: Kane, Zayden, Ellie Mae, Isaac, and Rowan along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends. A verse from the book of Proverbs, a favorite of Dorothy's, encapsulates her life beautifully: "She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future" (Proverbs 31:25). Her memory will continue to be a beacon of strength and love for all who knew her. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 28, at Old Hickory Baptist Church from 6:00 pm til 8:00PM. Earnestine Zollar

Earnestine Zollar

Age - 90

November 26, 2022

Earnestine Hervey Zollar was born November 23, 1931, in the small town of Plumerville, Arkansas to Timothy and Odessa Hervey. She peacefully departed this earthly life for her heavenly home on November 17, 2022. Even as a young child, Earnestine loved the Lord, and she accepted Christ at the tender age of 11 years old. Growing up, she was the only girl in a family of five brothers--Charles, Frank, Huey, James, and Ronnie--which played a crucial role in shaping her into the tough, yet tender and strong, yet humble, true woman of God she was. During her high school years, Earnestine loved to play basketball and was, in fact, a very gifted athlete which earned her a two-year scholarship to Philander Smith College, in Little Rock, Arkansas, but she decided not to use it. Instead, upon graduating from the Conway County Training High School, Earnestine moved to Kansas City, KS in 1950. And it was there, she would lay eyes on Carl Zollar Jr. for the first time and their love story would begin. Earnestine and Carl were a very striking couple, who both loved to dance and have a good time together. They courted for two years before they were married and started their family. Earnestine was blessed to have seven biological children: Carl, Gladys, Debra, Alice, Juan, Yolanda, and Pamela, and then welcomed two more adopted sons into her family, Eldridge Berry, Jr. , and Harry Porchia--all of whom she loved deeply and unconditionally with the kind of mama love that knows no end. Earnestine was an excellent seamstress (who was able to sew the suits and dresses of an entire wedding party); a skilled cook (her homemade rolls, peach cobbler and butter rolls were legendary); and she was known as a wise and caring counselor to many family members and friends. She could also be quite the comedian, with her ability to mimic folks and make keen observations about life that made everyone laugh and see the lighter side of things, no matter what challenges they were facing. Before her health started to fail, Earnestine was a member of the Willing Workers, Ladies Bible Class, Adult Singing Group and Visitation Committee. She also loved to travel extensively with the Senior Citizen Bridge-Gapper Ministry. And, on any given Sunday, you could always find her sitting with her church hat on in her favorite seat at the end of the pew, on the right-hand side of the sanctuary facing the pulpit, surrounded by her devoted family. Her queenly presence was a powerful symbol of the rock-solid faith on which she built her life and legacy of always giving God her very best. Earnestine was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Zollar Jr; her parents, Timothy and Odessa Hervey; her grandparents, Brents and Jewel Hervey; her brothers, Charles Hervey, Huey Hervey, and Ronald Hervey; her daughter, Pamela Moss; her son, Eldridge Berry Jr. ; and her great-grandson, DeAngelo Porchia. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Carl Zollar III and Juan Zollar; four daughters, Gladys Jones (Glenn), Debra Porchia (Harry Lee), Alice Zollar, Yolanda Guidry (Larry); her son-in-law, James Moss; two brothers, Frank and James (Annie); her chosen daughters, Debbie Sawyer, Sharon Jackson, Freddie Cohens; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a few great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022, 11:00am at Swope Parkway COC. Interment Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9am-11am at the church. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. To to the family or in memory of Ms. Earnestine Zollar, pleaseShow more
