Donald "the Plumber" Wilfred McElvy, 98, of Tampa, passed on August 28, 2023. A funeral mass will be held at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church on Thursday, September 7th, at 11:00am. Donald s a veteran of the United States Navy, and Donald will be laid to rest with military honors at Orange Hill cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Morning Star School, 210 East Linebaugh Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33612, in Donald's memory. Juanita Holbrook Ingram, 89, of Tampa, Florida passed away on December 1st, 2023. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Larry Ingram, Sr. , and daughter Deborah Lynn Ingram. She is survived by her 3 children, 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Son Robert Ingram Jr and wife Linda Faye, Daughter Linda Ingram and Daughter Julie Ingram Quinn and husband Richard. Grandson Jonathan Ingram and wife Tayshia, Granddaughter Elisabeth Ingram, Grandson Lucas Quinn and wife Jesenia. Great grandchildren Micah Jackson, Brooklyn Ingram and Matthew Ingram. Juanita was born April 15th 1934 in Boyd County Kentucky to Mable and Proctor Holbrook. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert (Larry) in 1953. They traveled the world together serving our country in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1976. Retiring to Tampa, Florida in 1976. Juanita became a dental assistant after she raised her surviving three children. Always up for a challenge, she went to work at the University of South Florida in the Media Relations department. After retiring again in 1995, Juanita and Larry loaded up their motorhome and traveled the United States. As they traveled in the western United States, they researched and edited Juanita's four Historical Western Fiction books. "Just One Bullet Left, Finding Dakota, Blue Mountain and Puckerbrush Cannon. " After the loss of her love in 2017, Juanita lived a quiet life in Tampa. Visitation will be held on December 8, 2023 at Brewer and Sons Funeral Home 3328 S. Dale Mabry Hwy. Tampa, Fl. 33629 beginning at 1:00 pm and funeral is at 2:00 pm. A private ceremony will be held at Florida National Cemetery at a later date.Show more

Martha Maria Lemus, born Martha Maria Pietrafesa on July 19, 1931, in Paulsboro, New Jersey, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the age of 92 in Tampa, Florida. Martha spent most of her life in Tampa before retiring to Land O' Lakes, Florida. She will be deeply missed by her loving children, Angel Lemus Jr (Carol) and Dawn Anne Zambito (Tony), as well as her cherished grandchildren, Vincent, Carla, Anthony Jr (Jessica), and Jacquelyn (Drew). Martha was also blessed with five great-grandsons, Nicholas, Anthony, Henry, Cooper, and Andrew. Martha was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Angel Lemus, her parents Mary and Joseph Pietrafesa, her siblings, Philomena and Michael, and her great-granddaughter, Mila. Martha was a dedicated and accomplished individual who worked diligently throughout her life. She excelled in the fields of accounting and management and retired at the age of 81 after many years as the General Manager/Controller at Spring Lock Scaffolding. Her commitment to excellence was evident in everything she did, and she was known for her perfectionist nature. Outside of her professional life, Martha had a passion for cooking and cleaning. She took great joy in preparing delicious meals for her loved ones and ensuring that her surroundings were always immaculate. Additionally, shopping brought her immense happiness, and she delighted in finding the perfect items during her retail adventures. Martha was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Land O' Lakes, FL, where she found solace and spiritual guidance. Her faith was an important aspect of her life, providing her with strength and support. A Funeral Mass and Celebration of Life Reception honoring Martha will take place in January of 2024. Details regarding these services will be announced at a later date. The compassionate professionals at Loyless Funeral Home in Land O' Lakes, Florida, are assisting the family with the arrangements. Ellen Faye Crystal, 78, of Tampa, FL passed away on Sunday, November 19th, 2023 peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on April 22nd, 1945 to Miriam and Ralph Weisbard in Far Rockaway, New York and attended Hofstra University where she met her beloved late husband, Neal Crystal. Neal became a US Army captain in Heidelberg, Germany and while stationed there for two years, Ellen began her career as a teacher. Upon their return to the States, they decided to settle in Tampa, FL in early 1973. While Neal became a successful business owner, Ellen devoted the early years to raising her two young children. Later, as her children grew older, she nurtured her many passions. Ellen was a proud co-owner of Young Editions bookstore, assisted in the running of educational programs at Children’s Safety Village, and briefly worked at the famed What’s New boutique. Upon Neal’s passing in 2012, Ellen found a home in the Hillel Academy of Tampa where she spent the next twenty years serving its community in various positions. Outside of her work, Ellen was a devoted mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt and friend. She was an adventurous traveler and indulged her grandchildren, Harrison and Charlie Metrick with many trips to Disney, Maine and California. Ellen is predeceased by her parents and husband of forty-six years, Neal Crystal. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Marc Metrick; her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Sara Crystal; beloved grandsons, Harrison and Charlie Metrick; sister, Norma Maybruck and numerous extended family members and friends. "Retired Command Sergeant Major James Thomas died at age 82 on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Kindred Hospital in Tampa, Florida. He was born September 7, 1941, in Marion County, South Carolina. As a young man, he enlisted in the US Army. He served his country honorably. During his time of service, he was awarded several medals, ribbons, and badges. These commendations include the following: Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star, Oversees Service Ribbon (3), Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Metal (9th Award), Expert Badge (Rifle), Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Parachutist Badge, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and the NCO Professional Development Medal (4). His military education consisted of Joint Operations Procedure III, First Sergeant Administration, First Sergeant Academy, Inspector General, and Senior Supply Sergeant Course. He was devoted to serving his country, excelling every step of the way to achieve the highest rank as an NCO in the US Army-Command Seargent Major. He retired after 32 years of service. He is survived by his son Jonathan V. Thomas, his daughters, Litasha M. Thomas, and Maritzel O. Ferguson, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild along with his brother, Donald Thomas and sister, Mary E. Thomas. Funeral services will take place in Fayetteville at Colvin Funeral Home. Tony attended local public schools of Hillsborough County and Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, FL. He was last employed by the Tampa Port Authority. His hobbies were fellowshipping with family and friends, playing cards (spade), horseback riding, and watching football. His favorite team was the NFL, Pittsburgh Steelers.
