Donald Francis Doris, age 91, of Little Canada, Minnesota passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Doris; parents Margaret and Eugene Doris; and son David Doris. Donald is survived by his children Michael (Kathleen) Doris, Dona (Bengt) Monson, and Bruce (April) Doris; many grand- and great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends. A funeral service for Donald will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Wulff Funeral Home, 1485 White Bear Ave N, St. Paul, Minnesota 55106, with a visitation one hour prior. Following the funeral service will be an entombment at Sunset Cemetery, 2250 St. Anthony Boulevard, Minneapolis, MN.

Murlene M Brainard, age 87, of Little Canada, MN, died on October 11, 2023, at Jones-Harrison Senior Living in St Louis Park, MN. Murlene L Murdock was born on September 16, 1936, in Mandan, ND, to Elinor W. (Bill) and Lillie (Abel) Murdock. Murlene moved to Detroit Lakes, MN as a 6th grader. She graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1954. She married her high school sweetheart, David Brainard, on August 26, 1955. Murlene and David were active in their churches, most recently Community Alliance Church in Detroit Lakes. Murlene & David also enjoyed their timeshare weeks in Branson, MO. Murlene especially enjoyed reading cozy mysteries, spending time with family and playing games like Farkle & Yahtzee. Murlene started her primary career with Northwestern Bell Telephone as an operator when she turned 16. She continued to work for Bell in various office administrator positions and as District Office Manager until she retired after 32 years. She went on to provide office administration to a couple of local DL businesses, Hedahl’s and CJJ / Starliner, before completely retiring. She is survived by three daughters, Vicki Brainard, of Shoreview, MN; Claudia (Don) Wiebold, of Shoreview, MN; and Jacque (Massoud) Brainard Emami, of Cave Creek, AZ; seven grandchildren, Nathan (Jenelle Pangborn) Wiebold, Carmen (Jesse) Wiebold Jefferson, Kyle (Joey) Kohns Wikoff, Alex (Sonja) Kohns, Kaly (Brian) Kohns Mozey, Aric Kohns, and Kara Kohns; and one great-granddaughter, Morgan Rae Kohns. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Brainard, and her parents. Funeral service will be held at Community Alliance Church, Detroit Lakes, on Sunday, October 29, at 2 PM. Janet S. "Jan" Reid Reid, Janet S. "Jan" Age 77 of Forest Lake and Little Canada passed away August 30, 2023, peacefully while holding her daughter's hand. Preceded in death by husband, Jim; parents, Andrew & Thelma Whitton; infant brother, Michael. Survived by daughter, Heather (Aaron) Liebo; grandchildren, Cecelia & Beckett; brother-in-law, Robb (Ann) Reid; many friends & extended family. Jan was born in 1946 and spent her early years in Minneapolis, then lived out west in Vancouver, WA and Eugene, OR before coming back to MN where she graduated from Minneapolis Southwest High School in 1964. She then attended UW-River Falls, graduating with a degree in Education. She proudly taught for 40 years at Forest Lake Elementary, impacting the lives of so many 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade students, as well as their families & her wonderful colleagues. By far, her greatest pride was her family: adventures with her husband of 50 years, Jim; raising her daughter, Heather; welcoming into the family her son-in-law, Aaron. . . and her favorite role of all, Grandma to Cece & Beckett. Bomma Jan was the kindest, friendliest, most patient person we knew, and will be missed by all of us so much. While we wish we had many more years to make memories here on earth, we are comforted that she is no longer suffering along the road of dementia. Patricia Witzmann (nee Meyer), 91, of Little Canada passed away on July 13, 2023. Proud Mother, Grandmother & Great-Grandmother. Pat was a woman of strong faith displayed through her kindness, generosity, selflessness, and love of family. Pat was an excellent cook with a love for hospitality, enjoying big family meals and get togethers. Pat was also a skilled seamstress sewing pajamas, doll clothes and pillowcases that were treasured by family and friends. In later years the pillowcases were donated to Gillette Children's Hospital. Pat enjoyed antiquing, travel and being with family, especially at the cabin in Webster, WI. Pat was a wonderful woman always ready with words of encouragement or a one liner to bring a smile. Preceded in death by husband of 63 years Otto Witzmann; infant son Michael Patrick; parents Kenneth Meyer and Hallie Upchurch; stepsister Gladys Shilts; brothers-in-law Sam Palermo, Jim Piechowski, Milton Witzmann, Sam Bongiovanni & Fr. Hugh Witzmann OSB; sisters-in-law Josephine Bongiovanni, Delores Witzmann, Lois Witzmann & Sr. Clare Witzmann OSB. Survived by her 6 children: Bonnie Bigelbach (Jim), Jeffrey Witzmann (Kathleen), Jill Hamburger (John), Lori Wagener (Terry), Tami Auerbach (Don Krause) & Benet Witzmann (Jennifer); 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Julie Piechowski; brother-in-law Bernard Witzmann (Sandy); many nieces, nephews, extended family & many friends especially those from Bankers Club & The Venetian Inn, lifelong friend Lenore Kuelbs, and Cleo, her beloved Chihuahua, who comforted her in her final days. Age 86, died peacefully at his Little Canada home while in hospice and the loving care of his family. He was preceded in death by his son, Bradley Schwartz. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jean, of 61 years; sister Delores Smith; daughter Lisa Morse (Merrill) and son Daniel Schwartz; Patty Schwartz Staglund; five grandchildren: Micah Morse, Michaela Morse, Ryan Schwartz (Taylor), Nathan Schwartz, Benjamin Schwartz; great-grandson, Henry Schwartz. Roger was born July 10, 1936 to Hulda and Theodore Schwartz in St. Paul, MN and grew up on St. Paul's East Side. After graduating from Johnson High School, he served in the U. S. Army, earned a teaching degree from Augsburg College, and later his Master of Divinity from Northwestern/Luther Seminary (1969). Over the next 4 decades, he served as parish pastor to Minnesota parishes in Murdock (Calvary Lutheran and Bethesda Lutheran), Northeast Minneapolis (Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran), Oakdale (House of Prayer Lutheran) and Stillwater (St. Paul Lutheran). Roger and Jean have devoted their life together in service to others, actively engaged in living out their Christian faith in the local and global missions of their congregations and communities. Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church (1669 Arcade Street, St. Paul, MN) will host visitation on Friday, Mar 24 from 4-8PM and one hour prior to Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, Mar 25 at 2PM.
