Donald April Obituary

Donald Mark Klatt, 90 of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin passed away Friday, April 21, 2023 at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. He was born on December 16, 1932 to Ervin and Claudia (Meunier) Klatt in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Donald graduated in 1951 from Rufus King High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He proudly joined and served in the United States Navy from May 1952 to May 1956. On August 20, 1952, Donald was united in marriage with Eileen Krahn in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Four children were born to this union. Donald worked as a Milwaukee County Deputy Sheriff and in 1988 he retired as a Sergeant. They lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin until they moved to Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin in 1992. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Donald loved the outdoors, fishing, hiking and bicycling all over the state. He also enjoyed dancing at Lakeside in Guttenberg, taking care of his lawn and spending time with his dog, Molly. Surviving Donald are his wife, Eileen Klatt of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, Michael (Judy) Klatt of Neenah, Wisconsin, Mark (Katherine) Klatt of Houston, Missouri, Kathleen Klatt of Fond du lac, Wisconsin and Kelly (Barney) Bennett of McGregor, Iowa; ten grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Ramona Klatt of Stougton, Wisconsin. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Claudia Klatt; three brothers, Ervin Klatt, Harold Klatt and Robert Klatt; and two sisters-in-law, Bernice Klatt and Marion Klatt There are no services planned at this time. Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin is assisting the family with arrangements.
