Donald "Don" Schrum was born November 6, 1948 in Hematite, MO. He was the son of Dolphin Taylor Sr. and Bessie Pearl (nee Murdick) Schrum. He died on June 20, 2022 at his residence in De Soto, MO at the age of 73 years. He is survived by his wife, Penny (nee Hayes) Schrum, De Soto, MO; children, Donna (Todd) Tucker, De Soto, MO and Randall (Michelle) Schrum, St. Louis, MO; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sisters, Viola (the late Carl, Sr. ) Huff, Farmington, MO; Eileen (Tim) Robbins, Gillespie, IL and Gwen (the late Tom) Hutton, De Soto, MO; two brothers, Ron (the late Mary Lou) Schrum, Sr. , De Soto, MO and Robert (Juanita) Schrum, De Soto, MO. He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Dawn Schrum Vinyard; one sister, Carol Greenwell; and two brothers, Dolphin "Joe" (Carol survives) Schrum, Jr. and Paul Schrum. Don worked out of the Laborer's Union Hall and was a member of the V. F. W. #1831. He also enjoyed attending shooting matches.
