Dolores Wehren Obituary

Dolores Wehren 7/15/1932-4/21/2023 Dolores was born April 15, 1932 in East Chicago, Indiana to Polish immigrants: Frank and Anna Wrobel. She was the youngest of nine children (all of whom preceded her in death). She grew up in East Chicago attending St. John Cantius Elementary School and East Chicago Washington High School. Dolores attended St. Mary Mercy Hospital of Nursing in Gary, Indiana and worked as a registered nurse. She completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Indiana University in 1961. Dolores married Joseph Edward Wehren on September 26, 1959 and had two children: Mark and James. They lived in Crown Point, Indiana before moving to Valparaiso. She has been a resident of the Valparaiso area and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church for the past 30 years. Dolores was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Jospeh E. Wehren. She is survived by her children: Mark and James (Susan) and grandchildren: Elizabeth and Thomas. After retirement, Dolores enjoyed traveling with her husband for many years. Dolores' life will be celebrated during a funeral mass at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 28th at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1855 W. Harrison Blvd. in Valparaiso. Rev. Douglas Mayer will officiate. Visitation, at the church, will be from 9:00 AM until the time of mass on Friday. Place of final rest will be in St. Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to St. Paul Catholic Church or the Alzheimer's Association. Bartholomew Funeral Home in Valparaiso is in charge of arrangements.
