Francis attended East Canton High School and he worked for many years as a bricklayer and a heavy equipment operator. His biggest goal in life was to become a dairy farmer and he accomplished that, working side by side with his wife for over 40 years. He enjoyed watching westerns and sports on tv and he liked playing cards with his friends. Mike is survived by his wife of 46 years, Peggy (Dawson) Smith; daughter, Melinda (Chad) Knueve; son, Brent (Stacy) Smith; a sister, Susan (Fred) Weber; brother, Phillip (Cheryl) Smith; two grandchildren that he adored, Cade and Rory; and several nieces and nephews. Ron graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Kent State University in 1993, where he met his wife of 29 years. He was a member of the NewPointe Community Church in Canton, Wellsville Masonic Lodge #180, Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, Louisville American Legion Post #548 and the Louisville FOE #2374. John “Jack” A. Berkebile, age 85, of Louisville, OH passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024. He was born January 6, 1939 in Johnstown, PA to the late Willard and Mary Berkebile. Jack was an Army Veteran and he was a retired draftsman from Union Metal in Canton. He was a member of Fairhope Faith Church, William H. Hoover Masonic Lodge # 770 F&AM and the Scottish Rite Valley of Canton. Jack loved sports, but he was a very avid fan of Louisville Leopard Wrestling and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He also was a very faithful swimmer at the Louisville YMCA. Jack is survived by his wife of 61 years, Linda (Jones) Berkebile; daughter, Jennifer Mehl; son, Jeff (Patty) Berkebile; a sister, Mariann (Jim) Rinehart; three grandchildren, Brock Mehl, Madison and Peyton Berkebile and his fur baby, Benji. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Willard Berkebile. James Bruce Kagey Sr. age 66, of Louisville, went home to the lord on January 26, 2024, after a battle with cancer. Born August 31, 1957 in Canton, a son of the late Morris Kagey and Evelyn (Peterson) Dreher, also preceded in death by son James "Magoo" Kagey Jr. Jimmy graduated from Louisville High School and was a veteran of the US Army 82nd Airborne.
