Dolores M. Armas (Lola), age 81, born on August 28, 1941, in San Benito, Texas passed away peacefully in her San Benito home on May 5, 2023. Lola is preceded in death by her parents Rumaldo H. and Anastacia V. Morales, and siblings Jesus Morales, Oralia Morales, Juan Morales, Irma Rodriguez, and Yolanda Barba. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Julian L. Armas; daughters Sonia Valdez (Jose) and Jo Ann Nguyen (Hau); sons Marco Armas (Debbie) and Julian Armas Jr. (Jimmy); grandchildren Brandon Nguyen (Emily), Justin Nguyen, Harley Armas, Clarissa Zavala, Bianca Nguyen, Nathan Armas, and Carina Valdez; sister Alicia Cabrera; and her fur baby Melly. A strong believer in faith and a breast cancer survivor, Lola showed great perseverance and selflessness. Through her strength for life, LOVE was always her foundation. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the quality time with her grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her delicious homemade flour tortillas, breakfast tacos, and carne guisada. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, from 5 PM - 9 PM with a Prayer Service at 7 PM at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. A Chapel Service will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 1 PM with a burial following at Mont Meta Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon Nguyen, Justin Nguyen, Jose Valdez, Jimmy Madrigal, Tony Rodriguez, and John Cabrera.
