Genaro Sanchez, Sr. passed away November 26, 2023 at the age of 86. He was born April 17, 1937 in Victoria, Texas to the late Francisco Sanchez and Francisca Sallebedra. Visitation will be Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at Grace Funeral Home, 2401 Houston Hwy. in Victoria, Texas. Funeral mass will be Friday, December 1, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Honoring Genaro as pallbearers will be Emil Garza, Carlos Pena, Roland Aguillon, Jr. , Anthony Sanchez, Eddie Valdez, and Genaro Sanchez, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Zachary Lopez, M. J. Sanchez, Luis Martinez, John Martinez, Jonathan Baines, Anderson Ford and Tristan Garcia. Genaro enjoyed woodworking, fishing and bingo. He was strong in his faith and loved to pray. He was selfless in nature and enjoyed telling jokes. Genaro loved visiting family and his grandchildren were his world. In addition to his parents, Genaro was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria Sanchez; son, Miguel "Mike" Sanchez; siblings, Sabina Cavazos, Sara Sanchez, Sostenos Sanchez, Gregoria Garza, Josephine Valdez, Mary Ann Garcia, Dominga Gutierrez; uncles, Luis Sanchez, Juan Sanchez, Lupe Sallebedra. He is survived by his children, Joe Sanchez (Dawn), Rebecca Villarreal (Noel), Genaro Sanchez, Jr. (Judy), Francis Aguillon (Roland), Martha Ford (Tim); 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
